摘要: This invention relates generally to: (1) methods of forming enhanced-surface walls (20) for use in apparatae (e.g., heat transfer devices, fluid mixing devices, etc.) for performing a process, (2) to enhanced-surface walls per se, and (3) to various apparatae incorporating such enhanced-surface walls. The method improved method broadly comprises the steps of: providing a length of material (21) having opposite initial surfaces (22a, 22b), said material having a longitudinal centerline (x-x) positioned substantially midway between said initial surfaces, said material having an initial transverse dimension measured from said centerline to a point on either of said initial surfaces located farthest away from said centerline, each of said initial surfaces having a initial surface density, said surface density being defined as the number of characters on an surface per unit of projected surface area; impressing secondary patterns (23a, 23b) having secondary pattern surface densities onto each of said initial surfaces to distort said material and to increase the surface densities on each of said surfaces and to increase the trans-verse dimension of said material from said centerline to the farthest point of such distorted material; and impressing primary patterns (25a, 25b) having primary pattern surface densities onto each of such distorted surfaces to further distort said material and to further increase the surface densities on each of said surfaces; thereby to provide an enhanced-surface wall for use in an apparatus for performing a process.

摘要: Heat transfer devices and methods of making such devices are disclosed. One such device is a fin having a primary texture and a secondary texture, wherein each texture has an average amplitude. The amplitude is an elevation change from a peak of the texture to an adjacent valley. The average amplitude of the secondary texture is between 1% and 90% of the average amplitude of the primary texture. Such a fin may have holes, some of which may be used to accommodate tubes passing through the fin.

摘要: A propel/repel dispenser having one or more features in combination to provide improved manufacture, assembly and use of the dispenser is described. Such features include a wide single lead thread, a “click” feature to provide sound and feel to a user so that propelling and repelling can be controlled, and a retention means involving a single slot extending from a central opening through which a screw structure passes upon assembly of the dispenser.

摘要: The arm-casting stand may comprise a base, an elbow cushion, a horizontal armature, an arm support, and a vertical armature. The arm-casting stand may be adapted to support and position an arm of a patient while a medical procedure is performed. The arm-casting stand may eliminate the need for a staff member to manually support the arm and may enhance the comfort of the patient. The base may be placed upon a work surface adjacent to the patient. The elbow cushion may be adapted for resting a portion of the arm upon. The elbow cushion may be held at a specific position relative to the base by the horizontal armature. The arm support may be adapted for elevating a portion of the arm. The arm support may be held at a specific position relative to the base by the vertical armature.

摘要: A collapsible reel for receiving windings of wire or the like includes a pair of opposed flange members and a plurality of folding support members defining the reel core and hingedly attached therebetween. Each of the flange members may include a plurality of pockets for receiving the plurality of folding support members when the reel is collapsed such that the thickness of the collapsed reel is the substantially the thickness of the two flanges. An outward arcuate contour is provided for winding the wire or like. The hinge structures each have a hinge axis and a radially displaced force transfer contact portion whereby compressive loading of the reel is not conveyed through the hinge axis. Interlocking surface structure is on the outside facing surface such as multiplicity of the reel flanges to facilitate stacking. The flanges, the folding core arms, and the hinge structure may all be formed of the same polymeric composition to facilitate grinding of the entire assembled reel for easy recycling.
