摘要： Methods of obtaining call processing instructions for a call to or from an analog telephone in a switched telephone network are disclosed. The methods include receiving a notification of the call at a service switching point (SSP) that serves the analog telephone, and sending a call processing instruction request to a network element that is also coupled to a data communication network. The methods further include translating the call processing instruction request to a translated request having a format suitable for transmission over the data communication network, and sending the translated request to a feature server over the data communication network. The translated request is analyzed to determine a call processing disposition for the call, and a response is sent to the network element over the data communication network identifying the determined call processing disposition for the call. The response is translated into a format suitable for transmission to the SSP, and the translated response is sent to the SSP. The call is processed based on the translated response.

Particularly, profile information about the telecommunications service is stored on a server in a data network. A change action relating to the profile information may be received at the server from a data device (such as a wireless unit) operating on the network. The change action is implemented on the profile information to result in changed profile information, which may be provided from the server via the data network to the telecommunications system.

A shopping list is generated for a customer via a personal shopping system connected to a communications network. The shopping list identifies one or more products the customer wants to purchase. The personal shopping system includes a product usage repository that contains customer information for each of a plurality of customers, including information about products previously purchased by each customer. The shopping list is transmitted to one or more product providers via the communications network with a request for information about each product on the shopping list. Product information is received for each item on the shopping list from one or more product providers via the communications network and communicated to the customer via the communications network.

摘要： A connection is established in a communications network responsive to receiving a Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) signal at a port having an assigned sequence associated therewith. A dialed sequence corresponding to the received DTMF signal is identified. If the dialed sequence is associated with a request for a specified service, first and second fields of a packet-switched signaling protocol message are populated with the assigned sequence associated with the port. The populated packet-switched signaling protocol message is transmitted over a packet-switched network to request the specified service, and a connection is established to provide the specified service through the port. Related systems and devices are also discussed.
