    摘要: An engagement type connector assembly in which the arrangement of terminals is miniaturized. The connector assembly includes male and female connectors in which the female connector swings about a pair of supporting shafts provided at its end so as to be engaged with the male connector. The female connector includes a female housing and an outer frame. A pair of rotating shafts protrudes from the female housing in such a manner that the rotating shafts are in parallel with the supporting shafts so that the female housing is swingably coupled to the outer frame through the rotating shafts. That is, the female housing is supported through the rotating shaft on the outer frame. Hence, in engaging the female connector with the male connector by swinging the female connector, the female housing is allowed to swing independently of the outer frame, thus being correctly aligned with the male housing. Therefore, the inlets of the female terminals into which the male terminals are inserted may be made more compact. Additionally, the electrode spacing interval can be reduced commensurately because the female terminals engage the male terminals in a non-oblique or substantially straight manner.

    摘要: A wire insertion hole is formed through a rubber plug along an axis thereof, and the rubber plug has a portion having outer seal lips formed on an outer peripheral surface thereof, and a fixing region to which a metal terminal is clamped. The fixing region includes a clamping region to be clamped by an insulation barrel of the metal terminal, and a withdrawal prevention region. An annular groove is formed in the inner surface of the wire insertion hole at a position corresponding to a boundary portion between the clamping region and the withdrawal prevention region. When the insulation barrel is clamped, the withdrawal prevention region is forcibly flared to be engaged with the metal terminal, thereby preventing the rubber plug from being withdrawn.

    摘要: A connector has a terminal insertion opening (23) and a restriction (25) projects in at an inner corner of the terminal insertion opening (23). A terminal fitting (30) has a rectangular tube (31) and a positioning projection (43) projects out from the rectangular tube (30). The positioning projection (43) is offset laterally from the restriction (25) when the terminal fitting (30) is oriented properly so that the tube (30) can be inserted into the terminal insertion opening (20). However, the positioning projection (43) is offset rotationally from the restriction (25) when the terminal fitting (30) is oriented improperly so that a corner (41) of the rectangular tube (31) contacts the restriction (25). The corner (41) of the rectangular tube (31) has a higher strength than a cantilevered projection from the rectangular tube (31). Thus, the corner (41) will not be deformed by contact with the restriction (25).

A lever (40) is mounted on the first housing (20) and has cam grooves (43) that engage cam pins (13) on the second housing (10). The housings (10, 20) are connected partly so that cam pins (13) fit into the cam grooves (43) to a specified position and so that mountable parts (12, 25; 28) begin engaging. The lever (40) then is operated, and a cam action is displayed as the cam pins (13) move in the cam grooves (43). As a result, the two housings (10, 20) are connected properly.

When the lever 20 is latched, the bending of the operating member 22 is prevented due to the guiding faces 17a. As a result there is no possibility of the operating member 22 bending due to an unintentional external force, and thereby releasing the lock 23.

The second housing has a second frame and second sub-housings are accommodated in accommodating spaces formed in the second frame. A cam follower is formed on an outer surface of a dual-purpose outer wall that faces the accommodating space out of the second frame. A seal is provided between an outer periphery of the second sub-housing and an inner periphery of the accommodating space. A frame-shaped restricting member is assembled to the second frame and surrounds the second frame to restrict outward displacement of the dual-purpose wall.
