摘要: A ballast for a vehicle metal halide lamp is simplified using a DC-AC one-step-boost high frequency ballast system. To satisfy requirements specific to a metal halide lamp, a discharge developing capacitor is installed on a primary side of a transformer in parallel with a DC power supply, ensuring discharge development after a breakdown. To reduce the size and increase the operating voltage of the transformer, a booster circuit and voltage-doubler circuit are installed on the primary side and secondary side of the transformer, respectively. To reduce the size of the transformer and achieve a stable discharge, the ballast frequency is swept within a range between the specified minimum frequency and maximum frequency so that the center frequency is from 80 kHz to 120 kHz, and the same frequency is unsustained for more than 10 msec.

摘要: A discharge lamp lighting apparatus includes: a DC power supply to supply power to a HID lamp; a transformer to transmit a voltage of DC power supply to the HID lamp; a switch connected between the DC power supply and a primary winding of the transformer; switches connected to a primary side of the transformer; an inductance connected in series to a secondary winding of the transformer; a series resonance circuit connected to a secondary side of the transformer and including an inductance and a capacitor; and a parallel resonance circuit connected to the secondary side of the transformer and including an inductance and a capacitor. The switches are opened or closed to intermittently supply power from the DC power source to the transformer to always supply a current to the transformer.

摘要: A compact, low cost high intensity discharge lamp ballast apparatus which can carry out normal ballasting without extinction at discharge start includes a DC-AC inverting booster circuit, a first resonance circuit, and a second resonance circuit. The DC-AC inverting booster circuit includes a DC-AC converter transformer for converting a DC voltage fed from a DC power supply to an AC voltage in response to switching on and off of FETs, boosting the voltage. The first resonance circuit includes a leakage inductance connected in series with the secondary winding of the DC-AC converter transformer, and a first resonant capacitor connected in parallel with the secondary winding. The second resonance circuit includes a metal halide lamp, an ignitor transformer for producing a voltage to start lighting of the metal halide lamp, and a second resonant capacitor.

摘要: A discharge lamp ballast circuit is provided which can prolong the life of a discharge lamp, and reduce the size and cost of the ballast circuit. It generates from an AC voltage boosted by a DC-AC inverter circuit a DC voltage higher than the breakdown voltage of an HID lamp, or a superimposed voltage in which a pulsating component is superimposed on the DC voltage, and starts the discharge by applying the DC voltage or the superimposed voltage to the HID lamp. It can make the life of the HID lamp longer than that of the case where a high voltage short pulse is applied to the HID lamp.

摘要: A discharge lamp ballast circuit is provided which can prolong the life of a discharge lamp, and reduce the size and cost of the ballast circuit. 摘要: Three or more circuits including a driving inverter circuit and rectifier circuits are connected in series, each of the circuits including a high-voltage side MOSFET and a low-voltage side MOSFET connected in series as well as a smoothing capacitor having positive and negative terminals between which the MOSFETs are connected. LC series circuits, each including a capacitor and an inductor, are disposed individually between one specific circuit and the other circuits with periods of resonance of the LC series circuits made equal to one another. In performing DC/DC power conversion through charging and discharging operation of the capacitors, a resonance phenomenon of the LC series circuits is used to improve conversion efficiency and achieve a reduction in size of the apparatus structure.

摘要: Three or more circuits, in which series-connected low-voltage and high-voltage side switches including MOSFETs including parasitic diodes are connected across positive and negative terminals of each of smoothing capacitors, are connected in series. One of elementary series circuits, each including a capacitor and an inductor, is disposed between any adjacent two of the circuits with the elementary series circuits set to have the same period of resonance. The MOSFETs of rectifier circuits are brought into an ON state simultaneously with the MOSFETs of a driving inverter circuit and brought into an OFF state earlier than the MOSFETs of the driving inverter circuit by a period of time not exceeding a time period equal to (period of resonance)/2. A resonance phenomenon of the capacitor and the inductor is used and conduction loss in the rectifier circuits is reduced in DC/DC power conversion performed through charging and discharging operation of the capacitor.

摘要: A DC/DC power conversion device includes n-stage circuits comprised of an inverter circuit for driving which is connected between positive terminals and negative terminals of smoothing capacitors, and a rectifier circuit which is connected between positive terminals and negative terminals of smoothing capacitors; a first circuit corresponding to at least one among the n-stage circuits and configured by connecting in parallel cell circuits of m, second circuits corresponding to a plurality of remaining circuits of (n−1) among the n-stage circuits; capacitors for energy transfer connected between middle points of the cell circuits and middle points of the second circuits; and column circuits of m comprised of the cell circuits, the second circuits and the capacitors for energy transfer, wherein the middle points are contact points of high voltage sided elements and low voltage sided elements of the cell circuits and the second circuits; and driving signals for driving the respective column circuits have the same driving cycle and are out of phase with each other.
