摘要: A focal position detecting optical apparatus wherein a light beam focused by a first optical system is irradiated on an object to be illuminated, focal point images are formed at two foci spaced apart from each other by a cylindrical lens disposed in a path of light beam reflected from the object, and a shielding element having a tip edge making an angle of approximately 45.degree. with an operating axis of the cylindrical lens is inserted at a site between the two foci and at which the light beam has a circular cross section to extract a portion of the light beam travelling between the two foci. The extracted portion is detected by two photodetectors disposed symmetrically with an axis lying in substantially the same direction as the tip edge, and the difference between outputs of the two photodetectors is produced for detection of an actual focal position of the first optical system.

摘要: An optical memory apparatus employs an optical disc having a plurality of guide-grooves in spiral and concentrical form and a plurality of flat tracks each arranged between adjacent two of the guide-grooves for recording information thereon, and the depth of the guide-grooves is suitably selected to increase the degree of modulation of a track cross signal, thereby performing a stable cross track counting by the use of the track cross signal and a tracking signal. One feature of the invention relies in that the modulation degree of the track cross signal is in the range between 30 and 60%. A second feature of the invention is that the guide-grooves are formed into a V shape and have an optical depth of .lambda./6 to .lambda./5 (.lambda. is the wavelength of the light used). In accordance with the invention, not ony a stable cross track counting is realized, but also the tracking signal is not practically varied with variations in the depth of the guide-grooves, thereby ensuring a highly accurate and stable tracking control.

摘要: An optical information processor including a recording medium with a guide groove having interrupting portions therealong in the form of mirror areas for reflecting light impinging on the recording medium. A light detector is provided for receiving diffraction light from the guide groove with a first signal detector being provided for differentially operating on signals from the light detector and generating a tracking signal tracking the guide groove. Additionally, a second signal detector is provided for detecting the signal from the light detector indicative of the mirror areas and providing an output indicative thereof which is utilized for compensating the tracking signal. The compensated tracking signal is then utilized for controlling the positioning of the light beam on the recording medium.

摘要: An autofocusing control system makes a position of focusing spot follow for itself a displacement of an information medium. In the autofocusing control system, a single mode semiconductor laser is excited in a multi oscillation mode by returning part of a reflected light beam from the information medium, and a focusing lens having chromatic aberration is used which focuses a laser beam from the semiconductor laser onto a different position along the optical axis of the lens in association with a different laser wavelength.

摘要: An optical card of the present invention has a card-shaped recording layer whose optical characteristic is varied by a laser beam applied thereon, and a resin layer for protecting this recording layer. The recording layer has optical grooves provided at a substantially equal interval in the opposite end portions of the recording layer respectively and varying the light intensity of the laser beam when the beam traverses the grooves, and first and second optical markers provided at a prescribed interval in the direction of extension of each of the optical grooves and varying the light intensity of the laser beam which passes them. The optical grooves are made longer every prescribed number thereof than others, and the longer optical grooves are used for zone access, while the shorter optical grooves are used for track access in a zone. The first and second optical markers are provided at positions deviated alternately at equal distance from the center of a track, and operate as so-called wobble pits to detect a track error. These markers are used also as timing marks for generating a clock signal.

摘要: This invention relates to a track setting method for a tracking servo system in an optical disk device and a device therefor. According to this invention the track passage velocity when the light spot moves across the track is detected and setting of the light spot onto the track is performed under the condition that the passage velocity thus detected is lower than a predetermined velocity. In the case where the passage velocity is greater than the predetermined velocity, the light spot is forced to move so that the passage velocity is lower than the predetermined velocity and the light spot is set up thereafter.
