摘要: A vehicle steering apparatus, includes a steering member for rotational operation, a support mechanism that supports the steering member so as to be movable between a housing position where the steering member is housed in a fixed frame of an instrument panel and a projection position where the steering member projects to an outside of the fixed frame, and that regulates an attitude of the steering member located between the housing position and the projection position, and a movable frame that moves together with the steering member, and that constitutes a part of the instrument panel by covering an opening formed in the fixed frame of the instrument panel when the steering member is housed at the housing position.

摘要: A vehicle steering apparatus includes a steering member for rotational operation, and a support mechanism that supports the steering member so as to be movable between a housing position where the steering member is housed in a fixed frame of an instrument panel and a projection position where the steering member projects to an outside of the fixed frame. The steering member includes a main body supported by the support mechanism, a pair of grip sections which are movable between the housing position and the projection position together with the main body, and which are supported so as to be movable between a nonoperating position and an operating position by the main body, and a grip section drive actuator which is supported by the main body, and drives the pair of grip sections to the nonoperating position and the operating position.

The system includes: a first attitude control circuit for stabilizing the behavior of the motor vehicle by controlling the operation of a steering mechanism of the motor vehicle; a second attitude control circuit for stabilizing the behavior of the motor vehicle by controlling a braking mechanism for applying a braking force to vehicle wheels of the motor vehicle; and a braking control circuit for causing the braking mechanism to generate a maximum braking force on condition that an attitude control is performed for the stabilization of the behavior of the motor vehicle by the first attitude control circuit when a braking command is inputted thereto.

摘要: A motor vehicle steering system is provided which includes: an operation member for steering a motor vehicle; a steering mechanism for turning steerable wheels of the motor vehicle; a first actuator and a second actuator each operative to apply a driving force to the steering mechanism; and a clutch mechanism operative to mechanically engage and disengage the operation member to or from the steering mechanism. When the first and second actuators operate normally, the clutch mechanism is brought into the disengaged state, and a driving force is applied to the steering mechanism from the first and second actuators and, when one of the first and second actuators malfunctions, the clutch mechanism is brought into the engaged state, and the steering assist force is generated by the other normal actuator in accordance with the operation of the operation member.

摘要: An electric power steering system, which controls an electric motor on the basis of a target electric current determined in accordance with a steering torque and applies a driving force from the electric motor to a steering mechanism. The system includes: a steering torque sensor; a target current setting circuit for determining the target electric current in accordance with the steering torque on the basis of an assist characteristic indicative of a relationship between the steering torque and the target electric current; a motor controlling circuit for controlling the electric motor on the basis of the target electric current; a traveling state judging circuit for judging whether or not a motor vehicle is in a slalom traveling state; and an assist characteristic modifying circuit for offsetting the assist characteristic from an initial characteristic level when the motor vehicle is in the slalom traveling state.

When the steering actuator (14) is normal, the control unit (9) causes the connection mechanism (19) to release mechanical connection between the steering member (2) and the wheels (5) and drives and controls the steering actuator (14) according to operation of the steering member (2). The control unit (9) includes a fail detecting section (29) for detecting, when the steering actuator (14) is normal, a fail of the transmission mechanism (18) based on a load on the steering actuator (14).
