Abstract:
An optical disk and a method for identifying the optical disk are provided which make it possible to identify a recording system of the optical disk easily in a short time by a recording and reproduction apparatus when a groove-recording system and a land-recording system are both employed in one kind of optical disk, for, example, a BD-R. Specifically, the polarity upon reproducing the wobble information is made to be the same in both of the optical disk of groove-recording system and the optical disk of land-recording system. The recording system of the optical disk that shows the same wobble polarity irrespective of the recording system can be easily detected by finding a tracking polarity that can recognize the wobble information by changing the tracking polarity, whereby the start-up time of the recording and reproduction apparatus can be shortened.
Abstract:
A method for producing a multilayer optical disk including a plurality of information storage layers is disclosed. The method includes a mastering step of preparing a plurality of metal dies, a replicating step of producing a base plate onto which a desired pattern is transferred using the plurality of metal dies and forming recordable/reproducible information storage layers. The desired pattern includes a wobbling tract pattern that is formed by combining a plurality of wobble patterns each having the same fundamental frequency. The mastering step produces the plurality of metal dies for the plurality of information storage layers having a shape that specifies a track groove whose shape factor differs from one information storage layer to another.
Abstract:
A lock device includes a first bracket 34 fixed to a screw element 33 and formed with a lock hole 34b; a second bracket 35 which has a fitting portion 35a fitted to the turn-type control lever 30 of an operation pattern selecting valve 16 and which is formed with a lock hole 35f; and a lock 36. The screw element 33 is screwed into a threaded hole 32 formed in an end plate 29 of the operation pattern selecting valve 16 to secure the first bracket 34 to the end plate 29. The fitting portion 35a of the second bracket 35 is fitted to the turn-type control lever 30 to connect the second bracket 35 to the turn-type control lever 30. The lock 36 is insertably attached to the respective lock holes 34b and 35f of the first bracket 34 and second bracket 35 for locking the turn-type control lever 30. With such a structure, the lock device can be manufactured relatively easily without the necessity of processing the operation pattern selecting valve.
Abstract:
A bearing seal unit comprises: a bearing member that supports a rotating shaft so as to freely rotate; a seal member provided integrally at one side along an axial direction of the bearing member to seal the rotating shaft; a connecting part extended along the axial direction from one member to the other member of the bearing member and the seal member and having an end side in the extending direction which protrudes more in the direction intersecting the axial direction than a base end side to connect the bearing member integrally with the seal member.
Abstract:
An optical recording medium includes a main-information area in which a metal reflection film is formed on a substrate where a row of pits is formed as main data, and a sub-information area in which is recorded medium identification information, which is used to identify the optical recording medium individually, by removing the metal reflection film partially and forming a plurality of reflection-film removed areas. Information is reproduced by irradiating the metal reflection film with a beam of light. In the sub-information area, a row of pits or a guide groove is formed on the substrate, and a track pitch of the row of pits or the guide groove is at least 0.24 μm wide and at most 0.45 μm wide.
