摘要： A recording apparatus in which a recording head for effecting recording on a recording medium can be carried on a carriage movable with a reading unit for performing an original reading operation carried thereon, including a white flat plate member removable provided at a location opposed to the reading unit and along an area in which the carriage is moved. A reading unit for use in a recording apparatus in which a recording head unit for effecting recording on a recording medium and the reading unit for reading the image of an original are selectively interchangeable relative to a reciprocally movable carrier, including original image reading means constituting a predetermined reading optical path entering and reflected by the surface of the original to read the image of the original, and a movable member having reference correction means for reading moved to a position on the reading optical path corresponding to the surface of the original when the carrier is in a predetermined position.

摘要： A reading unit provided with an optical system mounted on a recording apparatus to read a source document includes a housing having the optical system in it, a light transmitting portion arranged on the outer surface of the housing of the reading unit in order to guide the light outside the reading unit into the optical system of the reading unit, and a protection member to cover the outer side of the light transmitting portion for opening and closing such portion freely. With the structure thus arranged, the reading unit is protected from ink mist and other particles created by the recording apparatus that may contaminate the reading unit, hence preventing the accuracy of reading signals from being lowered when reading is performed by means of this reading unit.

摘要： A printing apparatus includes traveling means for traveling in the recording directions by holding it for recording on a recording medium, guiding means for guiding the traveling means, and reading means detachably held by the guiding means. This printing apparatus further includes electrical connectors provided for the reading means and printing apparatus, respectively, for electrically connecting them, which are arranged to be installed or removed simultaneously by the operation of mounting the reading means on or demounting it from the guiding means, and also, detecting means for detecting a state of the reading means being mounted on the printing apparatus, controlling means for holding the power-supply to the traveling means and recovery means for recovering the performance of the recording means in a state of being cut off in accordance with the detection of the detecting means when the reading means is mounted on the printing apparatus. With such structure, it is possible to mount a reading unit in the interior of the printing apparatus easily without removing recording means, and at the same time, to prevent the reading unit from being stained by recovery means for recovering the performance of recording means.

摘要： A scanner head cartridge, which can be mounted exchangeably with an ink head cartridge on a carriage capable of moving the ink head cartridge of an information processing apparatus for recording on a recording medium, includes a lower case containing therein optical parts required for reading, an upper case structured to be coupled with the lower case for covering the open face of the lower case and guiding means arranged on the upper surface of the upper case for positioning when being inserted into the carriage. With the structure thus arranged, it is possible to mount the scanner head cartridge on the carriage by a simple mounting operation with a highly precise positioning simultaneously.

摘要： A scanner head cartridge is constituted by a lower case which houses optical parts required for reading and electrical parts required for image processing, and an upper case which can engage with the lower case to cover the open surface of the lower case, and a positioning guide means used upon inserting the cartridge into the carriage is formed on the surface of the upper case, that is opposite to the lower case. A scanner head cartridge is held on a carriage that moves an ink head cartridge of an ink-jet printer for performing recording on a recording medium, in place of the ink head cartridge, and can be commonly used using a common base unit even in carriages which mount different ink head cartridges and have different shapes. In addition, the scanner head cartridge allows easy adjustment of the optical system.

摘要： An optical disc apparatus, presenting recording quality without degradation by an extreme temperature rise in an objective-lens drive mechanism in an optical pickup, includes a mechanical chassis on which a disc rotation mechanism, an optical pickup, and a transfer mechanism are mounted, a decorative plate that is a plate-shaped member located between the disc and the optical pickup and fixed on the mechanical chassis, a disc tray for loading and removing the disc, a circuit board for operation control, and an apparatus housing containing the components. A recess is formed in an indented shape in a portion of the mechanical chassis facing an outer peripheral region of the disc recording surface. An incline is formed in a position close to an opening of the disc tray for mounting the mechanical chassis and opposite the outer peripheral region of the disc recording surface, and slopes gently down to the recess.

摘要： An optical disc apparatus comprises the followings within housing thereof: an optical pickup, which is configured to conduct recording or reproducing of a disc, as an information recording medium; a rotation mechanism of said disc; a transfer mechanism, which is configured to move said optical pickup from an inner periphery of said disc up to an outer periphery thereof; a mechanical chassis, which is configured to mount said optical pickup, said disc rotation mechanism and said transfer mechanism thereon; a disc tray, which is configured to conduct storing and taking out of said disc; and a connector, which is configured to electrically connect between a circuit board for conducting driving control of said rotation mechanism and an external electronic apparatus, wherein a projection portion is provided on a reverse surface of said disc tray, at a portion facing to said connector at a position when said disc tray is stored, to be inserted into a gap between periphery of said connector and said housing, and thereby preventing fluid sounds (or wind sounds) generating due to high-speed rotation of the disc when high-speed recording/reproducing, from leaking into an outside of the apparatus, so as to reduce the noises therefrom.
