摘要： A stick ignition coil apparatus for an ignition plug includes a primary coil arrangement, a secondary coil arrangement, a center core, a coil case, a high voltage terminal, a spring case and dielectric resin. The primary coil arrangement is located radially outward of the secondary coil arrangement, which is located radially outward of the center core. The coil case is located radially outward of the primary coil arrangement. The high voltage terminal is located at a distal end of the secondary coil arrangement. The spring case holds a spring. The dielectric resin is filled in a space defined radially inward of the coil case. An open end of the high voltage terminal is connected to an annular corner portion of a distal projecting portion of a secondary spool of the secondary coil.

The electrically insulative resin is filled in a first space, which is formed among the center core, the primary coil, the secondary coil, the body case, and the holder. The holder has at least one resin flow hole, through which epoxy resin is supplied into the first space, and at least one vent hole, through which air in the first space is vented to an outside.

摘要： An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine has a first housing, a second housing, a holder, an insulating resin and a crack extension restrictor. The first housing encloses a center core, a primary coil and a secondary coil. The second housing has an install portion and a cylinder-shaped fitting portion fitted to a top cylindrical portion of the first housing. The holder is laid over top ends of the primary and secondary coils. The insulating resin is charged in an annular cavity defined at least by uppermost portions of the primary and secondary coils, the fitting portion and the holder and in contact with the fitting portion. The crack extension restrictor is formed by a part of the fitting portion and a part of the holder and disposed above the fitting faces of the fitting portion and the top end portion.

The two longitudinal end corners and faces of the core are covered by respective buffer members. The inner circumferential corners of the outer core is supported by ring members. Some of the members disposed radially inside and other members disposed radially outside of the inside members are held slidably to each other in the ignition coil. The spools are made of resin containing a rubber in excess of 5 weight percent and reinforcing materials. The resin insulator contains a flexible material.
