摘要： Provided is a method of driving an information display panel in which at least two types of display media comprised of particle groups containing chargeable particles are sealed between two opposed substrates, at least one substrate being transparent, and a voltage is applied across a pair of opposed pixel electrodes formed by providing conductive films to the respective substrates to move the display media, thereby displaying an information image, wherein, in a series of alternating voltage pulses applied at the time of deleting the information image displayed on the information display panel, there is provided an OFF time, which is a period during which application voltage of 0 volt is maintained during change of polarity of each pulse voltage. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a method of driving an information display panel capable of achieving the longer lifetime of a battery at the time when the panel is driven by the battery and of preventing drop of the voltage from a power supply, by reducing a peak value of the electric current occurring at the time of deleting with the alternating voltage.

摘要： Provided is a method of driving an information display panel in which: at least two types of display media comprised of particle groups containing chargeable particles are sealed between opposed two substrates, at least one substrate being transparent; a voltage is applied across a pair of opposed pixel electrodes formed such that conductive films provided to the respective substrates face each other to move the display media, thereby displaying an information image, wherein, at the time of deleting the information image displayed on the information display panel, application of an alternating voltage and application of positive or negative voltage two or more cycles in a row are combined to delete the information image. With this method of driving an information display panel, it is possible to sufficiently delete a history of a previously displayed information image without causing the decrease in lifetime of display-rewriting and increase in power consumption.

摘要： An image display device which comprises an image display panel, in which particles or liquid powders as image display media are sealed in cells formed in an isolated manner from one another by partition walls between two opposed substrates, at least one of two substrates being transparent, and, in which the particles or the liquid powders, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display an image, is characterized in that: (1) the partition walls are manufactured by a photolithography method, and a shape of the partition wall is a taper shape such that a width of an end portion at a side of a rear substrate is larger than that at a side of a front substrate; (3-1) a plurality of cells are arranged in such a manner that they do not correspond one for one to the positions of pixels for displaying the image; (3-2) a ratio of cell area/pixel area is formed to be smaller than 4; and (2) the image display panel is manufactured by: forming a first layer made of photosensitive color composite on one substrate; forming a second layer made of photosensitive composite, which has a light transmission higher than that of the first layer and a thickness larger than that of the first layer, on the first layer; performing an exposure through a mask with respect to the first layer and the second layer on the substrate; performing a developing and a washing with respect to the exposed first and second layers so as to form color partition walls on the substrate; and connecting the other substrate to the color partition walls.

摘要： An image display device which comprises an image display panel, in which particles or liquid powders as image display media are sealed in cells formed in an isolated manner from one another by partition walls between two opposed substrates, at least one of two substrates being transparent, and, in which the particles or the liquid powders, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display an image, is characterized in that: (1) the partition walls are manufactured by a photolithography method, and a shape of the partition wall is a taper shape such that a width of an end portion at a side of a rear substrate is larger than that at a side of a front substrate; (3-1) a plurality of cells are arranged in such a manner that they do not correspond one for one to the positions of pixels for displaying the image; (3-2) a ratio of cell area/pixel area is formed to be smaller than 4; and (2) the image display panel is manufactured by: forming a first layer made of photosensitive color composite on one substrate; forming a second layer made of photosensitive composite, which has a light transmission higher than that of the first layer and a thickness larger than that of the first layer, on the first layer; performing an exposure through a mask with respect to the first layer and the second layer on the substrate; performing a developing and a washing with respect to the exposed first and second layers so as to form color partition walls on the substrate; and connecting the other substrate to the color partition walls.

摘要： A method of manufacturing an information display device having an information display panel, in which display media are sealed between two substrates, at least one substrate being transparent, and, in which the display media, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display information such as an image, is characterized in that the improvement comprises, in the case of electrically connecting an electrode arranged on one substrate and an electrode arranged on the other substrate at an outer portion of an information display portion of the information display panel, the steps of: arranging an adhesive including conductive spacer particles having a diameter smaller than a distance between the electrodes arranged on the substrates at a predetermined portion between the substrates; and pressing a portion of the substrate, to which the adhesive is arranged, under pressure; so that the electrode arranged on one substrate is electrically connected to the electrode arranged on the other substrate.
