    摘要: Measuring device measures a terminal voltage of the battery in an open circuit state in a specific cycle after completion of a charge or discharge of the battery and collecting device collects the measured terminal voltage. Computing device computes a voltage value, to which a power approximation expression asymptotically approaches, as an assumed open circuit voltage of each time period from the collected terminal voltage, wherein the power approximation expression has an exponent of −0.5 or about −0.5 and is determined on the basis of the terminal voltage of each time period of a plurality of predetermined time periods. The assumed open circuit voltage of a time period, in which its difference from the assumed open circuit voltage of a neighboring time period becomes minimum, is estimated as an open circuit voltage.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for judging deterioration of a battery are provided, thereby a correct judgement for the deterioration of the battery can be timely carried out so as to replace the battery with another if it is necessary. The apparatus for judging deterioration of a battery that supplies electric power to a load includes: storing means 23c for storing a minimum guaranteed voltage predetermined as a minimum value of a terminal voltage of the battery 13 when a given current flows into the load; voltage drop computing means 23a for computing a voltage drop due to an ohmic resistance and polarization resistance of the battery occurred in response to a discharge of the battery when a given current flows from the battery into the load; first comparing means 23a for comparing the minimum guaranteed voltage stored in the storing means 23c with a first difference value, which is obtained by subtracting the voltage drop computed by the voltage drop computing means 23a from an open circuit voltage that corresponds to a state of charge upon a start of the discharge of the battery; and first deterioration judging means 23a for judging that the battery is deteriorated if the first difference value becomes equal to or smaller than the minimum guaranteed voltage and the state of charge upon the start of the discharge exceeds a first specific value as a result of the comparison by the first comparing means 23a.

    摘要: A charging efficiency, which is a ratio of an electrical quantity charged in a battery as an electromotive force to a total electrical quantity supplied to the battery, is computed at a plurality of measuring points between a start and an end of charging of the battery. A resistance difference of the battery between a resistance at the charge start point and a resistance at one of the measuring points is obtained, and a full charged state resistance is obtained at a full charged state of the battery. By using a ratio of the resistance difference to the full charged state resistance, a charging efficiency of the battery is computed at the one of the measuring points. The battery is in an active state where no passivating film is formed on poles of the battery. A charged electrical quantity of the battery is obtained based on the charging efficiencies sequentially obtained during the charging of the battery when the battery is in the active state. In the mean time, a charged electrical quantity of the battery is obtained based on an integration of a charging current multiplied by a corresponding charging time during a transition period in which a passivating film remains on the poles of the battery before the charging current sufficiently breaks the passivating film.

And, an arithmetic operation controlling means 23a-3 makes the approximate expression determining means update the assumed open circuit voltage and determine the power approximate expression repeatedly until the power number of the determined power approximate expression becomes −0.5 or about −0.5, and the assumed open circuit voltage is estimated to be the open circuit voltage when the power number becomes −0.5 or about −0.5.
