摘要： An apparatus for removing a DC offset during frequency direct conversion in a reception device of a wireless communication system. In the apparatus, an adder receives a digital baseband signal comprising a DC component, receives an estimated DC offset value, and calculates a difference between the digital baseband signal with the DC component and the estimated DC offset value. A DC offset calculator receives gain mode information of an analog element of the reception device, and calculates the estimated DC offset value according to the gain mode.

摘要： An AGC apparatus and method in a BWA communication system are provided, in which a MAP interpreter detects a beamformed symbol period in an (n−1)th signal, a symbol power calculator measures an average signal level of a symbol in an nth signal, and a beamforming gain calculator calculates a beamforming gain of the nth signal by adding a beamforming gain of the (n−1)th signal to a power difference between a signal of a beamformed symbol period and a signal of a non-beamformed symbol period in the nth signal using information about the beamformed symbol period of the (n−1)th signal and the average signal level of the symbol in the nth signal.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for selecting an operation mode to improve a throughput in a mobile communication system are provided. The apparatus includes a Carrier to Interference and Noise Ratio (CINR) predictor for predicting a probable average and dispersion for a CINR measured using a preamble of a received pilot signal or radio signal, a metric calculator for calculating a throughput for each Modulation and Coding Scheme Level (MCS_Level) by using the probable average and dispersion for the predicted CINR and for selecting an MCS_Level having a maximum throughput, and an operation mode selector for selecting an operation mode of the selected MCS_Level having the maximum throughput.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for estimating a channel in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system are provided. The apparatus includes a subcarrier demapper for extracting pilot symbols at preset positions for a channel estimation; and a channel estimator for acquiring channel estimate values of subcarriers through an Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filtering using the pilot symbols provided from the subcarrier demapper and a preset filter factor. Thus, the channel condition can be estimated by taking into account the channel change.

The method includes demodulating symbols from fingers to which different MAC indexes (MACIndex) are assigned by different sectors; aligning and discriminating channels transmitted in in-phase and channels transmitted in quadrature-phase by referring to the MAC indexes allocated to users according to sectors; soft-combining the aligned and discriminated symbols according to cells; demultiplexing the soft-combined symbols according to MAC sub-channels; and determining a symbol command for each MAC sub-channel of each cell and performing logical combining of determined symbols.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reducing a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) using peak windowing is provided. In the apparatus, an absolute value calculator calculates an absolute value of an input signal, a subtractor subtracts a predetermined clipping threshold level from the absolute value, a smoothing unit performs smoothing on the subtracted signal according to a predetermined smoothing scheme and outputs a first smoothed signal, an adder adds the first smoothed signal to the clipping threshold level, an inverse calculator outputs a second smoothed signal by multiplying the clipping threshold level by an inverse of the added signal, and a multiplier outputs a final PAPR-reduced signal by multiplying the input signal by the second smoothed signal. The method and apparatus address an overcompensation problem while processing signals having a large bandwidth and a high data rate without delay, thereby minimizing the clipping influences on Bit Error Rate (BER) and Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) performances.
