Systems, methods, and computer readable media are disclosed for generating and providing concurrent journey visualizations associated with different journey definitions. In computer-implemented embodiments, a data intake and query system, or a journey visualization computing tool, can be used to generate and provide concurrent representations corresponding with different journey definitions. In operation, a set of journey instances associated with a journey having a set of steps is obtained. Each step may be associated with at least one event that includes raw machine data produced by a component of an information technology environment. Upon obtaining different journey definitions specifying filters to apply to the set of journey instances, the data intake and query system can generate journey visualizations in accordance with the journey definitions. Thereafter, the journey visualizations corresponding with the journey definitions can be concurrently displayed by a computing device via a graphical user interface.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for analyzing multiple groups of ordered events having raw machine data associated with a timestamp. The events in a particular group of ordered events can be related based on a common field value for a particular field associated with a pivot identifier. Further, the events in a particular group of ordered events can be categorized based on one or more field values for field associated with a step identifier. One or more visualizations can be generated based on one or more of the groups of ordered events.

The disclosure relates to certain system and method embodiments for generating reports from unstructured data. In one embodiment, a method can include identifying events matching criteria of an initial search query (each of the events including a portion of raw machine data that is associated with a time), identifying a set of fields, each field defined for one or more of the identified events, causing display of an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) that includes one or more interactive elements enabling a user to define a report for providing information relating to the matching events (each interactive element enabling processing or presentation of information in the matching events using one or more fields in the identified set of fields), receiving, via the GUI, a report definition indicating how to report information relating to the matching events, and generating, based on the report definition, a report including information relating to the matching events.

Systems and methods are disclosed for generating one or more journey instances from events having raw machine data associated with a timestamp. The system generates a user interface that includes field identifiers associated with the plurality events for selection as one or more pivot identifiers and one or more step identifiers. Based on the one or more pivot identifiers, the system identifies related events that share a common field value, and based on the one or more step identifiers, the system groups the related events into a subset of events. Using the subset of events the system builds a journey instance.

Fields may be discovered in events that are returned in response to an initial search. The events may comprise portions of raw data. Furthermore, the fields may be defined by extraction rules for extracting values from corresponding portions of raw data. The displaying of a graphical user interface (GUI) may be caused where the GUI enables a user to select or enter criteria for a subset of the discovered fields without entering a search query in a search bar. At least one criterion for at least one field from the subset of the discovered fields may be received through a portion of the GUI that does not include a search bar for entering a search query. The events returned in response to the initial search query may be caused to be filtered based on the received criterion.

Embodiments of the disclosure are systems and methods for providing third party visualizations. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving, via an API, computer-executable instructions configured to render a visualization using events and a variable field; rendering the visualization using the events; causing displaying of a graphical user interface (GUI) comprising a visualization panel and a variable element; receiving, via the variable element of the GUI, an indication of a first change in the value of the variable field to a first value; re-rendering the visualization using the events and the first value; and causing display of the GUI with an updated visualization panel and the variable element.

Based on the one or more pivot identifier field, the system can relate events that have a common field value for the pivot identifier field. Based on the one or more step identifiers, the system can group the related events into a subset of events. Using the subset of events the system can build a journey instance.
