Abstract: A wireless base station locates User Equipment (UE) that is served by a wireless repeater chain that is served by the wireless base station. The wireless base station maintains a data structure that indicates geographic locations for wireless repeaters in the wireless repeater chain. The wireless base station wirelessly exchanges user data with the wireless repeater chain responsive to the UE exchanging the user data with one of the wireless repeaters in the wireless repeater chain. The wireless base station determines repeater hops in the wireless repeater chain between the wireless base station and the UE. The wireless base station determines the wireless repeater serving the UE based on the repeater hops. The wireless base station indicates a geographic location in the data structure for the wireless repeater serving the UE.

Abstract: A wireless access point controls Carrier Aggregation (CA) based on Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO). Baseband circuitry selects CA User Equipment (UEs) based on Radio Frequency (RF) signal strengths for the CA UEs exceeding a CA RF threshold. Transceiver circuitry wirelessly transfers user data to the selected CA UEs over CA links. The transceiver circuitry wirelessly transfers user data to MU-MIMO UEs over MU-MIMO links. The baseband circuitry adjusts the CA RF threshold based on changing MU-MIMO UE loading. The baseband circuitry re-selects the CA UEs based on their current RF signal strengths exceeding the adjusted CA RF threshold. The transceiver circuitry wirelessly transfers user data to the re-selected CA UEs using new CA links.

Abstract: A wireless access point uses both Carrier Aggregation (CA) and Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO). In the wireless access point, processing circuitry determines when Radio Frequency (RF) signal strength for a User Equipment (UE) exceeds a CA threshold. Transceiver circuitry transfers data to the UE over wireless CA links when the RF signal strength exceeds the threshold. The transceiver circuitry transfers data to the UE over different wireless links when the RF signal strength does not exceed the threshold. The processing circuitry determines MU-MIMO load on the wireless access point. The processing circuitry increases the CA threshold when the MU-MIMO load increases. The processing circuitry decreases the CA threshold when the MU-MIMO load decreases.

Abstract: An LTE base station to facilitate identification of uplink interference serves a plurality of UE devices and one or more relay nodes. The LTE base station is configured to identify a first scheduling group comprising the plurality of UE devices and a second scheduling group comprising the one or more relay nodes based on LTE registration data, allocate uplink resource blocks by scheduling a first portion of the uplink resource blocks at one end of a channel spectrum to the UE devices in the first scheduling group and scheduling a second portion of the uplink resource blocks at the other end of the channel spectrum to the one or more relay nodes in the second scheduling group, and monitor for interference in the second portion of the uplink resource blocks to determine if the interference is associated with the one or more relay nodes in the second scheduling group.

Abstract: A method for adaptive Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) transmission modes (TMs) in wireless communication networks. The method comprising receiving an attachment request from a User Equipment (UE). The method further comprising retrieving a Subscriber Profile ID (SPID) for the UE, and qualifying the UE for an enhanced MIMO TM based on the SPID. If the UE qualifies, then determining if the UE is capable of the enhanced MIMO TM. If the UE is capable of the enhanced MIMO TM, then assigning the UE to the enhanced MIMO TM, and receiving a Rank Indicator (RI) from the UE. If the RI is less than a RI threshold, assigning the UE to a lower MIMO TM.

Abstract: A wireless communication network determines a fine distance between a wireless base station and User Equipment (UE). The wireless communication network comprises a wireless repeater chain that is coupled to the wireless base station and that serves the UE. The wireless base station determines Round Trip Delay (RTD) between the wireless base station and the UE. The wireless base station determines if the RTD indicates that the UE is beyond a wireless base station range. The wireless base station determines if the wireless base station serves a wireless repeater chain. If the UE is beyond the wireless base station range and the wireless base station serves a wireless repeater chain, then the wireless base station determines a number of repeater hops between itself and the UE. The wireless base station then determines the fine distance between itself and the UE based on the number of wireless repeater hops.
