Abstract:
This invention has as its purpose the provision of a clamp screw in which the loss of clamping force is greatly reduced, a powerful clamping force can be obtained with a small rotational input, a sufficient clamping force can be obtained by a manual operation, and moreover, a sufficient clamping force can be obtained without excessive clamping by making effective use of the reverse thrust of the rotating tool. With the clamp screw of the invention, when the flange ring is in contact with the object to be attached, the rotation of the threaded member stops and a clamping state is entered, the rotation of the operating ring is screw fed by the balls moving around the thread grooves, and as a result of this movement of the operating ring due to the screw feed, pressure is exerted on the flange ring through the restraining ring thus clamping the tool to be attached.
Abstract:
A quick release chuck device includes a body member and a device for attaching the body member to a drive spindle. A chamber in the body member receives a conventional collet. Thread grooves are defined on the outer circumferential surface of the body member. An operating sleeve is rotatably mounted on the body member and includes thread grooves defined on the inner circumferential surface. Rolling bodies are received in the thread grooves of the body member and sleeve member wherein the sleeve member is axially movable relative to the body member upon rotation of the sleeve member through engagement of the rolling bodies in the thread grooves. The sleeve member imparts a force to the collet in the chamber causing the collet to grip upon a tool shank carried therein.
Abstract:
A clamping mechanism is configured for receipt on a threaded drive spindle to hold a working tool relative to the drive spindle. The mechanism includes a flange surface disposed to abut against a working tool in an operational mode of the device, and a rotatable member configured with the flange surface and disposed to advance the flange surface upon manual rotation thereof. The rotatable member includes at least one manual tightening device or mechanism for effectively increasing the manual tightening torque.
Abstract:
A spincast fishing reel has a reel frame to which front and rear covers are attached. The rear cover includes a pivotable thumb button which is depressed by a user when fishing line is to be cast. The front cover closes the face of the reel, but defines a forward opening through which the fishing line extends. A normally nonrotatable line spool is located inside of the front cover on a spool hub of the reel frame. Fishing line is wound onto the line spool by a rotatable pickup head located forward of the line spool. An improved drag arrangement includes a gear nut mounted on a threaded portion of the spool hub. A gear train arrangement is provided to operatively connect a suitable thumb wheel with the gear nut. Rotation of the thumb wheel by a user causes rotation of the gear nut, which varies the drag force imposed on the line spool.
Abstract:
A collet nut has a nut member for threaded engagement with threads on a collet holder. A sleeve member is rotationally coupled to the nut member in a first tightening mode of the collet nut. An annular ring is rotationally coupled to the sleeve member and rotationally coupled to the nut member in the first tightening mode. Facing ramped bearing surfaces are defined between opposing faces of the annular ring and the nut member and bearing devices, such as balls, are disposed between the opposite faces. In the first tightening mode, the nut member and the annular ring rotate as a unit. In a second tightening mode, the annular ring rotates relative to the nut member so that opposing high sections of the ramped bearing surfaces are brought rotationally closer thereby forcing the annular ring axially away from the nut member which imparts an additional axial force to a collet engaging member of the collet nut.
