摘要： A knife includes a body, a retractable blade slider, a blade snapper, and a manually engageable lock. The retractable blade slider is constructed and arranged to position a multi-blade blade assembly at a position of use wherein at least a forward most blade projects through an opening at one end of the body, and to retract the blade assembly into the body. The blade snapper is removably locked to the body. The blade snapper is constructed and arranged snap-off at least one or more blades from the blade assembly. The manually engageable lock is constructed and arranged to move between a lock position and an unlock position, wherein the movement of the manually engageable lock to the unlock position releases the blade snapper from the body.

摘要： A compact utility knife includes a blade holder slidably connected to a handle. A trapezoidal utility blade detachably mounts to the blade holder via a blade lock mechanism. A slide lock mechanism selectively retains the blade holder in its extended or retracted position relative to the handle. When the blade holder is extended, the blade holder and a majority of the blade extend forwardly of a forwardmost point of the handle. Extending the blade holder significantly increases an overall length of the knife such that the knife is comfortable to use when in the extended position and longitudinally compact when in the retracted position. The knife includes a blade lock mechanism. An aperture in the front of the handle creates a gap between the blade and the handle to discourage debris on the blade from transferring to the handle when the blade is retracted.

摘要： A utility knife includes a handle assembly comprising first and second handle portions pivotally movable between open and closed positions. A blade carriage within the assembly carries a blade. When the handle portions are in the open position the blade carriage is exposed to enable cutting blade replacement. A threaded fastener mounted on the handle assembly includes a knob portion to enable the fastener to be manually moved between a locking position in which the fastener holds the handle portions in their closed position and a releasing position in which the handle portions can be moved between open and closed positions. A detent assembly is operatively connected to threaded fastener to releasably hold the fastener in its locking position. Movement of the second handle portion into its open position pivots an end portion of the blade carriage outwardly away from the first handle portion to facilitate blade replacement.
