    摘要: A system for reading out the contents of multiple counters onto a common bus comprising a plurality of synchronous binary counters arranged in a ring with each counter having N corresponding stages each having an output terminal on which appears the contents of the stage, an input terminal, and a clock pulse input terminal, with each stage responsive to a clock pulse supplied to its clock input terminal to transfer the signal logic level on its input terminal to its output terminal and with the output terminals of the stages of a given counter comprising the common bus. Also provided is a clock pulse source for supplying clock pulses to all of the clock input terminals and a switching signal source for generating a switching pulse. A switch associated with each stage is responsive to the switching pulse to connect the output terminal of each stage to the input terminal of the corresponding stage of the next adjacent counter in the ring of counters.

    摘要: The spread spectrum digital communication system includes data input devices for generating digital information signals to be transmitted using radio signals. A chip stream generator converts the data bits into chip streams that are either complemented or not complemented via an exclusive-OR gate, depending on the data bits. A scrambler further randomizes the chip stream for transmission. The receiver includes a descrambler and a correlator or digital matched filter for detecting the data signal. A modified receiver includes a sampler for sampling the scrambled signal at a rate which is the multiple of the chip rate thereby eliminating any need for recovering the chip clock. Another modified version includes a receiver having means for generating multi-level signals indicating the quality of the probable detection.

A handheld communications device is operatively connected to the operator through the device interface module and adapted to communicate over the communications network being tested. The controller and the operator are connected by an out-of-band wireless control link to allow communication therebetween outside of the communications network being tested. The operator is adapted to receive commands from the controller over the out-of-band control link and, upon receipt of a command from the controller over the out-of-band control link, to initiate in-band communication on the handheld communications device over the communications network through the device interface module.

    摘要: A codeword synthesizing system and a correlation system for use with a spread spectrum communications system. In one embodiment, the codeword synthesizing system typically associated with a transmitter includes a base sequence generating subsystem, a modifier sequence generating subsystem and a concatenating subsystem. The base sequence generating subsystem is configured to create base sequences having a length less than a synthesized codeword. The modifier sequence generating subsystem is configured to create a modifier sequence, and the concatenating subsystem is configured to produce the synthesized codeword by multiplying each of the base sequences by an element of the modifier sequence. In one embodiment, the correlation system typically associated with a receiver includes a partial correlating subsystem, a memory subsystem and a combining subsystem. The partial correlating subsystem correlates base sequences of a synthesized codeword to a template and derives multiple partially correlated resultants. The memory subsystem temporarily stores the partially correlated resultants, and the combining subsystem sums weighted values of the partially correlated resultants to provide a correlated value of the synthesized codeword.

    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus and system for accurately predicting and evaluating cellular system performance before an actual system is installed at a site. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, only two persons (or under certain conditions, as few as one) are required to operate the portable measurement and antenna placement (MAP) tools of the invention, and evaluate system performance (e.g., voice quality) at varied locations of a site without the system being in place. A user can measure out the size of cells using a bar graph display that shows the range of acceptable signal levels for the system, and an audible warning tone that signals the user when the cell edge has been exceeded. In addition, other quality determinative system parameters (e.g., bit error rate (BER), etc.) can be evaluated simultaneously with voice quality and average received signal strength.
