摘要: A spinning device for covering and maintaining the front face of a bait fish resulting in greater utility, ease of use and bait durability. The device comprises a cup having a planar face and cylindrical wall adapted to extend rearward along the sides of the bait fish when the inside surface mates a “plug-cut” bait fish frontal face. The device has compound angled surfaces, a planar surface between multiple apertures enabling secure spin options and stability due to deep cup depth seating as well as enlarged flange apertures capable of accepting a standard toothpick. A trio of spaced apart apertures are formed in the device's frontal face allowing for a fishing leader terminating in one or more hooks extending through the device into the bait fish's body. The rotational spin rate of the device is determined by which of the three apertures the leader passes.

摘要: An apparatus for accurately cutting baitfish at a compound miter angle of forty five degrees. The apparatus automatically centers the bait fish within a transverse well at the bottom of a half pipe tube capable of accommodating various common bait fish sizes. The compound miter cut provided by this apparatus exactly matches the compound miter found within the construction of the Sure Spin Herring Helmet® Angler Innovations. The present apparatus is easily washable and leaves no trace of fish scent between uses as it is constructed from non-absorbing high density polyethylene (HPDE). The apparatus further provides safe usage as downward pressure is applied to the cutting tool and bait fish as the cutting tool blade enters the blade slot groove. The present apparatus is constructed with two half pipe options to accommodate multiple bait fish dimensions.

摘要: An in-line sliding line release is disclosed for holding a sinker weight to a fishing line. The release apparatus is attachable to and moveable along a fishing line with the capability of being manually fixed to the line so as to provide any desirable spacing between the lure or bait and the sinker weight. The release apparatus includes a compression arm which locks into place under a variable release tension setting. When a pull or strike from the lure line overcomes the adjustable tension set on the release housing body, the compression arm rotates upward by ninety degrees releasing the hold on the line sliding down to the lure or preset in-line stop. In the circumstance that there is no pull from the lure line, the tension screw means may be overcome by pulling the cam line guide manually to release the compression arm which will allow the device to slide down the line as desired. It has been observed and experienced that the length of leader distance between the lure or bait and the weight influences presentation and fishing success. Though long leaders often increase catch rates for various reasons, the ability to land a fish is severely compromised when using in-line weight systems. This device embodiment offers a solution for a variety of needs including an adaptation for ease of use with downrigger systems.
