    摘要: A particular method includes receiving first data via a first network at a device that is configured to receive the first data via the first network based on a first wireless communication subscription and is configured to receive second data via a second network based on a second wireless communication subscription. The method also includes while receiving the first data, determining that a tuneaway period associated with the second network has passed, where the tuneaway period is longer than a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle length associated with the second network. The method further includes tuning a receiver of the device to a paging channel of the second network in response to passing of the tuneaway period.

The page messages can be received by a communication device's communication interface, processes by a communication device's processor, and stored in a communication device's memory. Upon receiving page messages, a wake-up record is updated. A communication device can enter sleep mode based in part on reception of the page messages.     摘要: In a wireless data packet network, a single mobile device is provisioned to support a plurality of user profiles including a service or application that can be associated to multiple profiles. Arbitration for requests for a data connection can be made based upon priority, with applications having the same priority allowed to share the data connection. In some instances, the profile used to establish the data connection does not support the application that can be associated to multiple profiles, such as Location Based Services (LBS). To minimize subsequent rejections of requests for a data connection by the LBS, capability scans or updates determine what services are supported by the currently active profiles.

    摘要: An apparatus or method integrates device policy and network policy in order to arbitrate a priority between packet data applications or services for a data connection. In response to a request, a data connection to a wireless network is established for a first application of a first type of application or service if no data session is in progress or if a second application of a second type of application or service can share an existing data session. A hybrid arbitrator performs hybrid arbitration between the first application and the second application in response to determining that the first type and the second type cannot share the existing data session, either based upon a network policy that specifies a difference in priority between the first type and the second type, or based upon a device policy if the network policy does not specify a difference in priority.
