摘要:
A cell stack comprising a plurality of fuel cells or electrolysis cells has a combination of flow patterns between anode gas and cathode gas internally in each of the cells and between the cells relative to each other such that cathode and anode gas internally in a cell flows in either co-flow, counter-flow or cross-flow and further that anode and cathode gas flow in one cell has co-flow, counter-flow or cross-flow relative to the anode and cathode gas flow in adjacent cells.

摘要:
The invention provides an interconnect device for a fuel cell comprising an electrolyte, an anode and a cathode, the interconnect device comprising a channel system having a plurality of channels, each channel being closed in one end and having either an inlet side or an outlet side at the open end of the channel, each channel having an inlet side placed in alternating order with a channel having an outlet side, the inlet side of each channel placed in consecutive order on one side of the interconnect, and the outlet sides of each channel placed in consecutive order on the opposite side of the interconnect relative to the inlet side, and a second layer of channels is located on the surface of the channel system. The invention also provides a fuel cell and a fuel cell stack in which the interconnect device is used.
摘要:
A fuel cell stack or an electrolysis cell stack comprises a plurality of cells, which need to be compressed to ensure and maintain internal contact. To achieve an evenly distributed compression force throughout the electrochemically active area a frame with a central aperture is positioned on top of the cell stack between a resilient plate and a top plate. The enclosed aperture forms a compression chamber which is provided with pressurised gas from the cathode inlet, whereby an evenly distributed force is applied to the electrochemically area of the cell stack by the resilient plate.

摘要:
A compression assembly for distributing an external compression force to a solid oxide fuel cell stack, the compression assembly comprising a force distributing plate, and a force distributing layer so that when said compression assembly is mounted together with the solid oxide fuel cell stack, the external compression force is exerted on the force distributing plate and the force distributing layer is provided next to a surface of at least one end plate, opposite to the surface facing the solid oxide fuel cells. The force distributing layer has a rigid frame extending next to a region of a sealing area of the solid oxide fuel cell stack. One or more resilient elements are placed inside the space enclosed by the rigid frame and positioned next to an electrochemically active area of the solid oxide fuel cell stack, so that when the compression assembly mounted with the solid oxide fuel cell is in use, the force distributing layer provides an unequally pressure distribution across the region of the sealing area and the electrochemically active area.
