Abstract: A communication system may include an external device and a robotic garden tool. The external device electronic processor may be configured to retrieve calendar information associated with a location that includes a lawn, and analyze, using at least one of natural language processing and word recognition, the calendar information to extract first information related to use of the lawn at one or more time periods. The external device may be further configured to generate scheduling information for the robotic garden tool based on the first information, and transmit the scheduling information to the robotic garden tool. The robotic garden tool may be configured to receive the scheduling information from the external device, and control operation of the at least one wheel motor to control movement of the robotic garden tool in accordance with the scheduling information.

Abstract: An external device that may include a display and a device network interface configured to allow the external device to wirelessly communicate with one or more robotic garden tools. The external device may be configured to display a scheduling screen on the display. The scheduling screen may include a first display area including a calendar that includes a plurality of time blocks. Each time block may represent a time period during which a first robotic garden tool is scheduled to operate. The scheduling screen may include a second display area including first scheduling information about a selected time block. The first scheduling information and the selected time block may be editable via user inputs. The user inputs change the scheduling information or the time block, and the external device also correspondingly changes the other of the scheduling information or the time block in response to the user inputs.

Abstract: A theft prevention system includes a robotic garden tool that includes a housing, and a set of wheels coupled to the housing and configured to rotate to propel the robotic garden tool on an operating surface. The robotic garden tool further includes at least one wheel motor coupled to one or more wheels of the set of wheels to drive rotation of the one or more wheels. The robotic garden tool further include a first electronic processor configured to detect a potential theft event associated with the robotic garden tool. The first electronic processor may be further configured to engage in an anti-theft action in response to detecting the potential theft event. The anti-theft action may include ceasing at least one operation of the robotic garden tool until the first electronic processor receives a code indicating that the potential theft event should be ignored.
