Abstract: This invention concerns the separation and purification of secondary alkyl primary amines from mixtures comprising major amounts of contaminants, through the formation of secondary alkyl primary amine-carbon dioxide complexes which are preferentially extracted by inert solvents which are immiscible or partially immiscible with said mixtures and have poor solubility for the contaminants contained therein.
