Abstract: A system includes a battery pack having a first battery module, a second battery module, and a busbar that couples the first and second battery modules; a battery management controller having a first wireless transceiver; and a battery monitor coupled to the first battery module and to the busbar. The battery monitor includes monitoring circuitry configured to receive a first indication of a parameter of the first battery module; a second wireless transceiver configured to provide the first indication to the battery management controller via a wireless connection to the first wireless transceiver; and a busbar voltage circuit configured to receive a second indication of a voltage across the busbar, and, responsive to the second indication being greater than a voltage threshold, provide a first signal to the second wireless transceiver to cause the second wireless transceiver to be in a higher-power state.

Abstract: A device includes a wireless transceiver coupled to a microcontroller. The microcontroller is configured to receive a first command from the wireless transceiver indicating an uplink allocation for the device, and in response to the first command, cause the wireless transceiver to turn ON at the beginning of the device's uplink allocation, send data to the wireless transceiver for wireless transmission, and cause the wireless transceiver to enter a low power mode after the data has been transmitted by the wireless transceiver. The microcontroller is also configured to receive a second command from the wireless transceiver to transition to a low power mode, and in response to the second command, send data to the wireless transceiver for wireless transmission during the uplink allocation for the device, and receive data from the wireless transceiver during uplink allocations for at least one other device.

Abstract: A system includes a first plurality of secondary devices, each secondary device of the first plurality of secondary devices including a first wireless transmitter and a battery monitor integrated circuit (IC). The battery monitor IC is configured to obtain battery data from at least one battery cell, and the first wireless transmitter is configured to wirelessly transmit the battery data. A first primary device has a second wireless transmitter wirelessly coupled to the first wireless transmitters of the first plurality of secondary devices via a first wireless network. A second primary device has a second wireless transmitter. The second primary device is configured to detect a fault with the first primary device and, in response detection of the fault, to establish a second wireless network with the first plurality of secondary devices.
