Abstract:
A method for transmitting digital data by a primary optical signal between a transmitter terminal and a receiver terminal, involves the following steps: determining a magnitude characterizing optical-wave degradation between the transmitter terminal and the receiver terminal, determining a number of transmission channels by a decreasing function of the magnitude characterizing optical-wave degradation, distributing the digital data over the transmission channels, modulating optical signals of different wavelengths using digital data distributed over the transmission channels, generating the primary optical signal by wavelength multiplexing of the optical signals, and sending a transmission configuration, including at least the number of transmission channels, from the transmitter terminal to the receiver terminal.
Abstract:
The invention implements: a first step of defining the capacity from which each beam must benefit on account of the density of exchanges to be delivered by said beam; a second step of determining, depending on the various power-amplifier sharing schemes, the maximum number Pi of beams that an amplifier is able to deliver and the average capacity allocated to each beam; a third step of forming groups of beams, each characterized by the average value of the cumulative capacity of the beams that form it, and determining the number of amplifiers required for each formed group; a fourth step, during which the various beams are distributed between various amplifiers, in such a way that the average value of the load placed on these beams is substantially equal to the average load of the group in question.
Abstract:
An on-board method for the end-to-end transparent transport of data packets is implemented by a telecommunications system comprising a first, sending station, a second, receiving station, a first, sending satellite, connected directly to the first station, and a second, receiving satellite, connected directly to the second station, the first satellite and second satellite being interconnected via a spaceborne network. The transport method comprises steps allowing an end-to-end transparent adaptive control loop for the adaptive control of the modulation and of the coding of the access links between the first station and the first satellite and between the second station and the second satellite to be implemented.
