摘要： The invention provides a computer implemented method and system for providing a set of parameters, for example operational control parameters, to a domestic appliance for controlling operation of the appliance when processing a consumable product such as coffee, tea, wine, rice or the like. The method comprises uploading to a network based server from a third party entity such as a producer, supplier, distributor or seller of a consumable product an optimized or preferred set of one or more control parameters for processing the consumable product based on its identity and/or one or more specified characteristics of the product. The set of parameters is stored in a network storage device such as a database under control of the server. The set of parameters is stored in association with its identity and/or one or more specified characteristics. At a network connected appliance for processing a consumable product, the method includes receiving information identifying the consumable product and/or one or more characteristics of said consumable product. In response to receipt of said information at the appliance, the appliance is controlled to automatically send data over said network to said server. At the server, the data is processed to identify the consumable product and/or the identity of the one or more characteristics of said consumable product and, in response, to retrieve said stored set of one or more parameters from said network storage device and send them over said network to said appliance.

摘要： A device for heating and/or vaporizing a fluid is provided. The device comprises a heat conductive inner conduit defining a fluid flow pathway. An electrically powered heating element is arranged to surround said inner conduit whereby heat energy from the heating element heats fluid passing through the fluid flow pathway. A casing is provided to sealedly surround the heating element. An exterior surface of the casing is in communication with a space into which heated fluid or vapour is emitted from the outlet of the inner conduit. The casing is heat conductive such that heat energy is received from the heating element heats fluid within said space. Fluid such as water can be efficiently heated by passing it through the fluid flow pathway and having it contact the exterior surface of the casing for double heating. Also, by restricting water flow through the fluid flow pathway can result in easy generation of steam. By having a fluid flow pathway through the heating element, this results in more efficient heating of water and saving in energy. Furthermore, it maintains the operating temperature of the heating element at a lower range thereby the life of the heating element is extended.

The stirrer is received in use within the container (2). The non-connect driving mechanism (4) is arranged externally of the container (2). A holder is provided for positioning the stirrer within the container (2) where the holder is not integrally formed with the container (2), but is a separate component therefrom. The holder is not affixed to the container (2), but locates within the container (2) such that it positions the stirrer adjacent a wall of the container (2) near to the external location of the non-contact drive mechanism (4). The holder is manually removable from the container (2) and the stirrer is manually removable from the holder for cleaning.
