摘要: Systems and method for defining sub-bands are provided. Each sub-band has a respective sub-carrier spacing, and at least one sub-band portion. Each sub-band portion has a channelization configuration including a resource block size configuration and a sub-band portion bandwidth. The sub-bands are allocated based on a sub-band configuration framework that includes a preconfigured set of possible sub-carrier spacings, a preconfigured set of possible resource block sizes, and a preconfigured set of possible sub-band portion bandwidths. In some embodiments, to improve bandwidth utilization, the channelization configuration for a given sub-band configures a plurality of resource blocks having a first number of sub-carriers and an additional resource block having a number of sub-carriers other than the first number. A bandwidth portion may include two bandwidth portions having different channelizations with differing numbers of sub-carriers per resource block such that more useful sub-carriers are used than would be possible if only resource blocks having a largest of the differing numbers of sub-carriers were used.

Grant-based traffic is scheduled in a first frequency partition, and grant-free traffic is mapped in a second frequency partition. In a first option, grant-based traffic is also scheduled in part of the first partition, but in a limited manner that ensures a given device's transmission and retransmissions do not all experience interference with the grant-based traffic. In another option, some grant-free traffic is mapped to part of the second partition and is spread in frequency across the second partition.

Embodiments are disclosed in which low latency and latency tolerant communications coexist in the same time-frequency resources. In some embodiments, a latency tolerant transmission is postponed to free resources to send a low latency transmission.

Within a scheduling bandwidth, which may be an entire carrier bandwidth or a sub-band, scheduling is used to reserve a guard zone at the edge of the scheduled bandwidth. This can be based on the frequency localization capabilities of a transmitter that is to be scheduled. The guard zone may be defined to a resolution that is the same as the scheduling resolution in which case the guard zone is defined entirely through scheduling. Alternatively, the guard zone may be defined to a resolution smaller than the scheduling resolution in which case scheduling and further signaling may be employed to define the guard zone.

摘要: An apparatus and method for a wireless device to receive data in an eco state is provided. According to an embodiment of the disclosure, upon determining that data is to be transmitted to the wireless device in the eco state, a network node operates to transmit a unicast notification message to the wireless device in order to inform the wireless device of the impending data transmission. According to another embodiment of the disclosure, in response to receiving the unicast notification message, the wireless device operates to receive the data in accordance with the unicast notification message. To this end, the wireless device might for example try to receive data for a time period following the unicast notification message. Meanwhile, the wireless device may remain in the eco state.
