    Abstract: When the subject vehicle reaches the position PNO in the middle of the interflow zone, it is judged whether the conditions for automatic interflow are satisfied. When it is judged that the condition for automatic interflow are not satisfied at the position PNO, the notification for urging manual interflow by the driver is started. Otherwise, the notification for manual interflow is not started. In the case where the notification for manual interflow was not started, when the subject vehicle reaches the position PGU between the distal end of the interflow zone and the position PNO, the notification for manual interflow is started.

    Abstract: A vehicle controller determines whether the position of a detected travel lane relative to an edge of a road being traveled by a vehicle may differ from an actual position; estimates a first required time for an action, which is required before the vehicle reaches a predetermined location, for the case that the position of the detected lane relative to the edge of the road is correct; estimates a second required time for the action for the case that the position of the detected lane differs from the actual position by a predetermined number of lanes; and sets start timing of the action, based on the second required time, so that the action will finish before the vehicle reaches the predetermined location, when the position of the detected lane may differ from the actual position and the second required time is longer than the first required time.

    Abstract: A vehicle control device has a processor configured to identify a lane merging terrain to be a predetermined terrain, and when a lane merging terrain has been identified in a predetermined driving zone of a navigation route, to set an area between a marking line disappearing point and a location such that the sum of the first distance and second distance is a first reference distance from the marking line disappearing point in the traveling direction of the vehicle, as a movement prohibited zone where movement of the vehicle between lanes by automatic control is prohibited and to generate a traveling lane plan representing a traveling lane in which the vehicle is to travel in the predetermined driving zone of the navigation route, the processor being further configured to select a traveling lane so that the vehicle does not move between lanes in the movement prohibited zone.

    Abstract: An autonomous driving system issues an operation instruction to a driver of a vehicle during autonomous driving. The operation instruction is an instruction that makes a request or a proposal to the driver and urges the driver to perform a response operation responding to the request or the proposal. An attention desire degree is a degree of the driver's desire to pay attention to a situation surrounding the vehicle, and an attention event is an event that increases the attention desire degree. A delay condition is that the attention desire degree exceeds a threshold or the attention event exists. When the operation instruction is necessary and the delay condition is satisfied, the autonomous driving system performs delay processing that waits without issuing the operation instruction. When a delay end condition is satisfied after start of the delay processing, the autonomous driving system issues the operation instruction.
