Abstract:
An electrical connector includes a cable having a shield, a shell and an attachment ring for attaching the shield to the fitting. The shell extends between a mating end and a cable end. The shell has a fitting at the cable end. The shell has a cavity receiving an end of the cable through the fitting. The attachment ring is received inside the shield and the fitting. The attachment ring presses the shield outward against an inner surface of the fitting. The shield may be positioned radially inside of the fitting and the attachment ring may be positioned radially inside of the shield. A radially outer edge of the attachment ring may impart an outward radial load onto the shield.
Abstract:
An electrical assembly includes a connector body extending along a body axis between a mating end and a cable end. The connector body has a body groove at the mating end having a deep groove section and a shallow groove section. A retaining ring is received in the body groove that is compressible between a relaxed state and a compressed state. The retaining ring is able to be compressed to the compressed state when aligned with the deep groove section and is blocked from being compressed to the compressed state when aligned with the shallow groove section. A coupling nut is rotatable about the mating end of the connector body and is configured to be coupled to a receiving connector. The coupling nut has a coupling nut groove receiving the retaining ring when the retaining ring is in the relaxed state.
Abstract:
Electrical connector includes a connector shell having a passage therethrough and an end section. The electrical connector also includes a coupling nut that is mounted to the end section of the connector shell and has a sleeve wall that surrounds and interfaces with the end section. The coupling nut is rotatable about a central axis. One of the sleeve wall of the coupling nut and the connector shell is shaped to include a spring arm, and the other includes a series of radial teeth that are disposed circumferentially around the central axis. The spring arm slidably engages the radial teeth in a ratchet-like manner as the coupling nut is rotated about the central axis. The spring arm and the radial teeth impede rotation in a first direction about the central axis and permit rotation in an opposite second direction about the central axis.

Abstract:
A connector assembly may include a housing that retains one or more contacts, a cable having a shield that surrounds one or more conductors that electrically connect to the one or more contacts, and a backshell that secures the housing to the cable. The backshell may include at least one wall having a backshell outer surface and a backshell inner surface, and one or more through-holes formed through the at least one wall. Each through-hole forms a current path between the backshell outer surface and the backshell inner surface.
