    摘要： An image reproducing apparatus of the type in which a toner image formed on a charge receptor is transferred to a transfer member and is fixed on said transfer member by the application of pressure and heat by use of an intermediate transfer belt. An auxiliary pressure contact roller is disposed so as to come into contact, via the intermediate transfer belt, with a support roller forming a transfer-fixing portion, disposed inside the intermediate transfer belt and opposing a pressure contact roller via the intermediate transfer belt, so that the contact area between the support roller and the intermediate transfer belt is enlarged.

The toner image on the intermediate transfer member is heated at a temperature lower than the toner fusion temperature, and the transfer material is heated to the toner fusion temperature or over. A pressing unit to press the transfer material onto the intermediate transfer member is heated at the toner fusion temperature or over.

    摘要： The present invention is such that in a recording apparatus comprising a toner image carrier and an intermediate image transfer material which receives the toner image transferred from the image carrier and then transfers the toner image onto the subsequent transfer sheet material (recording sheet), and an image transfer section for transferring the toner image onto the moving transfer sheet material comprising a transfer roller and pressure roller pressing thereon, the recording apparatus has the following pre-heating means comprising a heat member and a pressing member which is located at a position prior to the transfer section and which, brings the subsequent transfer sheet material into close contact with or presses the subsequent transfer sheet material against the periphery of the pressure roller, the member being provided at least on its side facing the transfer sheet material with a heat-resistant, elastically deformable porous material.

    摘要： In the transfer of a toner image from a transfer medium such as a belt to transfer material such as paper, heating and fixing of the toner is required. According to the present invention, two sources of heat are used, one applied to the transfer medium and the other to the paper, the heat applied to the transfer medium being insufficient to melt or fuse the toner, with the heat applied to the paper being greater than necessary for fusing. When the hot paper contacts the underheated transfer medium the temperature of the latter is then and only then increased to the fusing temperature and the transfer and fixing of the toner image upon the paper takes place.
