摘要： A color image forming apparatus capable of superposing toner images of respective colors in accurate register by preventing an exposing position from being displaced in the subscanning direction. The rotation phase of a polygonal mirror is controlled on the basis of the mark detection timing of a mark sensor. Hence, the exposing position in the subscanning direction is prevented from being displaced without regard to irregularities in the circumferential length and feed speed of an intermediate image transfer belt.

摘要： In a paper conveyer of an image forming apparatus, a transfer operation is performed by a transfer roller and an unfixed image in the transfer operation is carried onto the lower side of a transfer paper sheet. The transfer paper sheet is conveyed to a fixing device constructed by a fixing roller and a pressurizing roller. A hardness of the fixing roller is smaller than that of the pressurizing roller, while a nipping portion of the fixing and pressurizing rollers is formed in a concave shape. The fixing and pressurizing rollers are arranged such that a nipping inlet port point of the fixing and pressurizing rollers is located in the vicinity of a line of a conveying locus of a thin transfer paper sheet. A paper guide plate guides the transfer paper sheet to the nipping inlet port. In this construction, a transferred paper sheet is conveyed such that this transferred paper sheet is reliably fed into the nipping portion of the fixing device, and it is possible to prevent an image rub, wrinkles, a jam, etc. from being caused.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus of the type sequentially forming powder images of different colors on an image carrier, and sequentially transferring them to an acceptor one above the other (primary transfer), an image transfer method is disclosed which prevents transfer dust from being transferred to the acceptor at the time of the primary transfer. During the primary transfer, a bias potential V.sub.1 is applied to one of two conductors located at an upstream side. The potential V.sub.1 has the same polarity as the charged powder carried on the image carrier. A potential V.sub.2 is applied to the other conductor at a downstream side and provided with a polarity opposite to the polarity of the charged powder. Every time the primary transfer is repeated, the potentials V.sub.l and V.sub.2 are respectively sequentially shifted toward the polarity of the powder and toward the polarity opposite to the polarity of the powder.

The planetary gear transmission includes a sun gear rotatable by the driving force received from the driving source, a plurality of planet gears meshed with and surrounding the sun gear with an identical interval between the adjacent planet gears, a rotatable carrier to rotatably support the plurality of planet gears, an outer gear encircling and meshed with the plurality of planet gears, and an output shaft combined with and supporting the carrier. A rotary body shaft mounting a rotary body is connected to the output shaft of the planetary gear transmission to transmit the driving force received from the output shaft to the rotary body. The outer gear is made of resin and the output shaft and the carrier are made of metal.

摘要： An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a developing unit for developing a latent image formed on an image carrier with a two-ingredient type developer, i.e., a toner and carrier mixture. A toner replenishing device replenishes toner stored in a toner storing portion to the developing unit. A carrier storing portion, storing a carrier therein, is constructed independently of the toner storing portion. The carrier is fed from the carrier storing portion to the developing unit by a toner conveying force available with the toner replenishing device.

The circulation member receives the developer discharged from the development member and conveys the developer back to the development member. The circulation member includes a container provided upstream from the development member in a conveyance direction of the developer to store the developer. The container includes an agitator provided inside the container and agitates and mixes the developer and fresh toner supplied to the container. The agitator includes a rotatable agitation member in which one or more holes are formed through which the developer passes to mix the fresh toner and the developer to be agitated in the container.

摘要： A toner container includes a storing body that stores toner, a toner reception opening that receives the toner from the toner storing body, a shutter opening, a cylindrical shutter, and an O-shaped elastic ring disposed at the shutter opening configured to seal a space between the shutter opening and the shutter. The shutter receives a nozzle of an image forming apparatus and the cylindrical shutter opens and closes the shutter opening when moved by a nozzle of the image forming apparatus inserted into the shutter opening. When the nozzle is disposed through the shutter opening, the toner which is received from the toner reception opening is subsequently received by the nozzle of the image forming apparatus.
