Each image formation device has a writing optical device that forms a latent image on a photosensitive member and a developing device that develops the latent image into a visual image. If the writing optical device in one of the two image formation devices is broken down, then the latent image is formed using the writing optical device in other of the two image formation devices. The latent image is developed to obtain the visual image using the developing device of the image formation device with the broken writing optical device.

    摘要: A tandem type color image forming device having a plurality of process cartridges each being detachable from a frame. An intermediate image transfer belt extends vertically, and the process cartridges are arrayed in the vertical direction and supported by the frame. Each process cartridge installs therein a developing unit and a photosensitive drum, and each photosensitive drum is in confrontation with the belt. A front cover is provided in front of the process cartridges. If viewing from the front, when the front cover is opened, the process cartridges are accessible without any interference with ambient components, and the belt is positioned behind the process cartridges.

    摘要: A matte laser printer produces a photographic like image on media by repeatedly fusing the toners deposited thereon. In a preferred embodiment, repeated fusing is accomplished by utilizing a duplexing path in the printer. In an alternate embodiment, a processing flow direction of the media is selectively reversed after fusing to enable multiple fusing operations. In either case, toner forming the image on the media is more fully fused, thereby reducing light scatter, such that a photographic like image is produced.

    摘要: A system and method are provided for generating a color plane in an image. For example, a noise generation device is coupled to at least one component within a laser imaging assembly to cause a random deviation in the placement of the spots within respective color planes. This random deviation advantageously alleviates the problem of misregistration, white gapping, and moiré patterns, etc. In one embodiment, a system is provided that includes a laser imaging assembly having a laser generating a laser beam that is optically coupled to a photoconductor, typically an organic photoconductive (OPC) drum. The laser beam is optically coupled to a number of predetermined positions on the OPC drum to generate an image on the OPC drum. A noise generator is operatively coupled, for example, to a component in the laser imaging assembly. The noise generator causes a random motion in the component, for example, thereby generating a random deviation of each of the predetermined positions on the OPC drum to which the laser beam is optically coupled.
