    摘要: An image display device which comprises an image display panel, in which particles or liquid powders as image display media are sealed in cells formed in an isolated manner from one another by partition walls between two opposed substrates, at least one of two substrates being transparent, and, in which the particles or the liquid powders, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display an image, is characterized in that: (1) the partition walls are manufactured by a photolithography method, and a shape of the partition wall is a taper shape such that a width of an end portion at a side of a rear substrate is larger than that at a side of a front substrate; (3-1) a plurality of cells are arranged in such a manner that they do not correspond one for one to the positions of pixels for displaying the image; (3-2) a ratio of cell area/pixel area is formed to be smaller than 4; and (2) the image display panel is manufactured by: forming a first layer made of photosensitive color composite on one substrate; forming a second layer made of photosensitive composite, which has a light transmission higher than that of the first layer and a thickness larger than that of the first layer, on the first layer; performing an exposure through a mask with respect to the first layer and the second layer on the substrate; performing a developing and a washing with respect to the exposed first and second layers so as to form color partition walls on the substrate; and connecting the other substrate to the color partition walls.

    摘要: An information display panel wherein display media consists of at least one kind of particle and having optical reflectance and charging characteristics are sealed between two opposed substrates, at least one of which is transparent. The display media, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display information. A member for securing a gap space is formed in the outer and inner peripheral sides of a sealing agent placement part provided in the outer edge portion of an display area of the panel. The member provided in the outer peripheral side is provided evenly in each side and densely in each corner portion. The member provided in the inner peripheral side is provided with chamfered corners in each corner portion, so that the member for securing the gap space does not contact to the sealing agent placement part.

    摘要: An information display device has an information display plate where at least one or more kinds of particles are sealed between cells formed by a partition wall, the cells being between two opposite substrates at least either of which is transparent. At least either of electrodes is provided on a substrate, and an electric field is applied to the particles by the electrodes to move the particles, causing information such as an image to be displayed on the display plate. The surfaces of the substrates are smoothed by making D≧2H satisfied, with D being the diameter of a particle (a particle forming the particles), H the height of the electrodes. This thins the electrodes as much as possible (making the height of the electrodes small) and smoothes the surfaces of the substrates, and as a result, the information display device after an endurance test has an improved contrast ratio.
