摘要: Generally speaking, in accordance with the invention, a printer is provided for consistently printing on a sheet of recording media regardless of any curl in the recording media. The printer includes a feed roller for feeding a sheet of recording medium through the printer. At least one pinch roller is provided for pressing the sheet against the feed roller. At least one guide is provided with an end which contacts the feed roller in the vicinity of the contact point so as to guide the sheet toward the contact point. A biasing member is provided for biasing the end of the guide against the feed roller, and at least one control roller is rotatably attached to the guide to control the contact force exerted by the end of the guide against the feed roller.

摘要: A method for discharging a sheet from a printer that includes feeding a first sheet from a sheet tray, conveying the sheet by the force applied by the driving roller until a leading edge of the first sheet contacts the trailing edge of a second sheet, thereby urging the second sheet in the feed direction such that the second sheet is no longer supported by supporting portions, and reversing the direction of the first sheet by reversing the rotation of the driving roller.

摘要: A printer for feeding printing sheets of different thicknesses including a sheet feeding roller 30 adapted to convey a printing sheet P. A pinch roller having a shaft 40a is provided and adapted to press a printing sheet against sheet feeding roller. A supporting member 41 is provided for rotatably supporting pinch roller 40 through shaft 41. An urging member 45 is provided for applying the pressing force through the supporting member to the pinch roller. A guide member 46, discrete from supporting member 41, is positioned by shaft 40a of pinch roller 30, and adapted to lead the front edge of the printing sheet to the nipping region of sheet feeding roller 30 and pinch roller 40.

摘要: A printer and a print start method for a printer allows printing to be started at a desired position reliably even if the sheet to be printed upon is shorter than a standard length. The print start method includes determining the relative size of the sheet to be printed upon and then starting a print operation on a sheet by a print head after a sheet feed roller has released the sheet to be printed upon if the sheet being printed upon has a relatively long or standard length, and starting a print operation on a sheet by a print head before the sheet feed roller has released the sheet to be printed upon if the sheet being printed upon has a relatively short length.

摘要: A recording apparatus has a recording head, a platen, and a first hole. The recording head includes a dot formation element array, and the platen holds a recording medium opposite the recording head. The first hole is disposed in an area of the platen opposite a downstream portion of the dot formation element array and guides ink discarded outside an end of the recording medium when the end is printed without a margin. Alternatively or additionally, a second hole is formed in an area of the platen opposite an upstream portion of the dot formation element array, and the platen guides ink, which is discarded outside an end of the recording medium when the end is printed without a margin, to the second hole.

摘要: Springs 34 and 35 are located on the back face of a paper cassette, between a movable plate 32 and a bar 31, coupled with a side edge aligner 27. A slot extending in the direction in which a spring load is generated is formed in the movable plate, and a hook portion is formed at the end of the spring in the direction in which the spring is extended or contracted. The length of the slot and the length of the spring end in the direction in which the spring load is generated differ for the individual springs, and correspond to the distance the movable plate is displaced. That is, a size difference is defined for each spring until the spring load is applied. During the insertion of the paper cassette, the movable plate is displaced by the mechanism constituted by the groove cam 41 and the boss 36a, and in accordance with the displacement, different spring loads are multiply applied the paper side edge aligning member via the bar.

摘要: A liquid ejecting head is adapted to eject liquid toward a target medium. A transporter is adapted to transport a tray on which the target medium is mounted toward a region facing the liquid ejecting head via a transporting path. A tray guide is disposed in a front side of the liquid ejecting apparatus, and having a supporting face adapted to support the tray thereon. The tray guide is movable between a first position connecting the supporting face with the transporting path to allow the transporter to transport the tray to the transporting path and a second position escaping the supporting face from the transporting path. The supporting face is kept being parallel to the transporting path when the tray guide is moved between the first position and the second position.
