摘要： A sheet post-processing apparatus 100 includes bundle discharge rollers 6, a sheet detection sensor 31, a main tray 11, and a sheet hold device 32 having a plurality of hold portions 34a to 34c. When a sheet bundle is discharged from the bundle discharge rollers 6, the hold portions 34a to 34c rotate to a release position where the hold portions 34a to 34c stop holding the sheet bundle P stacked on the main tray 11, the main tray 11 moves downward to a wait position H2, and then, the hold portions 34a to 34c rotate to the lowest position, then the main tray 11 moves up to a hold position H1.

摘要： A sheet post-processing apparatus has a stacking section for storing sheets received from an image forming apparatus for post-processing, a sheet saving section for temporarily saving a specified number of sheets being conveyed to the stacking section and then causing them to accompany a sheet conveyed next for the batch feed of the sheets, and a controller for executing a control to batch feed remaining sheets by causing the remaining sheets to accompany the temporarily saved sheets of a previous set if the remaining sheets falls short of the number of the sheets to be batch fed. Even if the total number of the sheets saved in the auxiliary storing section and the last sheet of the sheet bundle falls short of the preset batch feed number, the need for temporarily suspending the conveyance of the first sheet of the next bundle can be eliminated to speed-up the sheet processing.

摘要： When an engine detects changes in condition such as a power-OFF operation, an out-of-paper state, or the like, it sends a condition change signal indicating that the condition has changed to an engine control unit. The engine control unit inquires of the engine as to the contents of the changes in condition using a command signal so as to examine the cause of the changes in condition. When a power supply is scheduled to be turned off, a message indicating it is supplied to a host computer that uses the printer, or job conditions are saved, and the host apparatus is informed of the saved job conditions after the power supply is turned on again. In the case of the out-of-paper state as well, a message indicating it is supplied to the host computer that uses the printer. The items to be informed can be selected from the host computer.

摘要： A sheet bending apparatus and a sheet postprocessing apparatus are provided for improved alignment of recording sheets during center-folding. A center-folding unit mounted in a sheet postprocessing apparatus performs a center-folding processing to a stack of recording sheets aligned on their sides and placed in a sheet holding member. Side aligning is performed near a central portion in a sheet conveyance direction of the sheet holding member. The center-folding unit includes: two upper end aligning members positioned upstream in the sheet conveyance direction on the sheet holding member and movable equally in opposite width directions of the sheet holding member; and a pair of lower side end aligning members positioned on downstream in the sheet conveyance direction on the sheet holding member and are movable equally in opposite width directions of the sheet holding member and independently from the upper end aligning members.

摘要： A sheet post-processing apparatus is constructed to apply post-processing to sheets successively supplied from an image forming apparatus and received into an apparatus main body, and includes a main discharge tray onto which the sheets that have passed through the apparatus main body are discharged. The sheet post-processing apparatus further has an elevating mechanism for moving the main discharge tray up and down and a control unit for controlling an elevation control of the elevating mechanism. The control unit controls the elevating mechanism to move the main discharge tray up and down in synchronism with the discharge of the sheet onto the main discharge tray. The control unit carries out the elevation control of the main discharge tray so as not to adversely affect the discharge of a succeeding sheet even if the sheet discharged from the apparatus main body is curled up or down.
