摘要: This invention relates to a sheet handling unit. The sheet handing device has an intermediate tray which receives a copy sheet discharged through an outlet port of a transport guide member at a predetermined receiving position, and a hand unit which holds a portion of the sheet set on the intermediate tray to transfer the sheet set from the intermediate tray onto a sheet stacker. The intermediate tray carrying the sheet set thereon and the hand unit move toward a sheet releasing position in a state that the hand unit holds the portion of the sheet set to transfer the sheet set to the sheet releasing position. The hand unit pauses at the sheet releasing position while holding the portion of the sheet set. Meanwhile, the intermediate tray moves to a retract position away from the sheet stacker, and the hand unit releases the holding of the sheet set at the sheet releasing position. Thereby, the sheet set is transferred onto the sheet stacker from the intermediate tray.

摘要: An object of the invention is to accommodate sheets, as coming from two image forming units, in a small-sized sheet accommodating apparatus. The individual sheets S from the first and second image forming units are fetched in different directions X1 and Y1 by a sheet pedestal and accommodated in a stack. The sheets S are registered by stoppers which can be moved in the fetching directions X1 and Y1, respectively. The sheets can be fetched in registration by inclining the sheet pedestal into first and second modes and can be fetched in an image forming direction and in a sheet direction by turning at least the sheet pedestal in a horizontal direction. The sheets S are stapled as the post-processing and are discharged in a discharge direction X2 along the fetching direction X1 from the sheet pedestal by a push member.

摘要: A multiplicity of similar pockets open at their top and each serving for the reception of a printed product are attached in a closely spaced or uninterrupted row at endless revolving drive elements which move in a direction transversely to the direction of extent of the open pockets. These pockets successively travel to infeed stations for the printed products and the inserts. Each pocket is equipped with a mechanism for opening the printed product located therein. To reduce to a minimum the number of movable components in each pocket and to attain a faultless or proper alignment of the printed products with the inserts and which are collated together for forming a final product, each pocket is provided with an entrainment element intended for the reception of a printed product. This entrainment element is controllably displaceable, transverse to the direction of revolving motion of the pockets, between a first terminal position and a second terminal position. In each pocket there is provided an opening element, such as an opening wedge, which is stationary in relation to the associated pocket. This opening wedge opens the printed product which is entrained by the entrainment element during the course of displacement of the entrainment element from its first terminal position into its second terminal position.

摘要: A page binding device for binding pages 11 from a printer. The device having a support tray 18 for receiving and stacking printed pages 11 to form a bound document, and an adhesive applicator 16 for applying a two part adhesive to the printed pages. The two part adhesive has a first part and a second part, wherein the first part and the second part must contact eachother to form an adhesive bond. The adhesive applicator 16 applies the first part of the adhesive to one side of the printed pages and the second part to the opposite side of the page 11. The printed pages 11 are stacked in the support tray 18 such that the first part of the adhesive on one page 11 contacts the second part of the adhesive on the adjacent page in the adjacent page in the stack.Using a two part adhesive allows the adhesive applicator to be easily incorporated into a duplexed printhead assembly 13. As each side of the duplexed printhead 13 would only eject one part of the two part adhesive, the nozzle are far less prone to clogging.

摘要: A method and an arrangement for producing consolidated lines having a predetermined content of products of a plurality of product types, each line being produced in a sequence of alternating steps including the steps of conveying the line to be consolidated and of adding products to the line to be consolidated. A consolidating field includes consolidating stations interconnected by conveying paths and an outlet path connecting a consolidating station to an outlet. A control unit includes a consolidation data storage device for receiving and storing consolidation data regarding the consolidating field and regarding an allocation of product types to consolidating stations. Products of at least one product type are supplied to each consolidating station. Lines to be consolidated are conveyed and product groups are added to lines to be consolidated simultaneously on different conveying paths and consolidating stations, and consolidated lines exit the consolidating field through the outlet all according to a specific clocked cycle. For each line to be consolidated, control sequences for the above steps are determined according to an optimization process using line data inputted into the control unit, the data regarding the consolidating field and the data regarding the allocation of product types to consolidating stations. The steps of conveying lines to be consolidated, adding product groups and conveying consolidated lines are based on control data generated according to the control sequences and to the specific clocked cycle.

摘要: An improved bundle transfer apparatus for sheet material in signature form is provided. The apparatus includes a frame having rails on which a bundle transfer vehicle is mounted. The bundle transfer vehicle has a platform which is movable to a position under the signatures and a means for raising the platform and the signatures. The signatures on the bundle transfer vehicle are transferred to an end of the table where it is compressed and tied.
