The novel propylene elastomer according to the invention contains (1) units derived from propylene in amounts of 50 to 95% by mol and units derived from 1-butene in amounts of 5 to 50% by mol, and has (2) triad tacticity (mm fraction), determined by the .sup.13 C-NMR spectrum (hexachlorobutadiene solution, based on tetramethylsilane), of not less than 90%, (3) an intrinsic viscosity (in decalin at 135.degree. C.) of 0.1 to 12 dl/g, (4) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of not more than 3 and (5) a randomness parameter B value of 1.0 to 1.5, preferably 1.0 to 1.3. In addition, the elastomer desirably has properties that (6) the elastomer has a melting point Tm of 60.degree. to 140.degree. C., and the melting point Tm and a 1-butene constituent unit content M (% by mol) in the elastomer satisfy the relation -2.6M+130.ltoreq.Tm.ltoreq.-2.3M+155, and (7) a crystallinity C of the elastomer measured by X-ray diffractometry and the 1-butene constituent unit content M (% by mol) satisfy the relation C.ltoreq.-1.5M+75. Such propylene elastomer is excellent in rigidity, heat resistance, scratch resistance, transparency, heat sealing properties and blocking resistance. The propylene elastomer can be prepared using a specific transition metal compound catalyst.

Disclosed is a polypropylene composition comprising (A) polypropylene and (B) a specific propylene-1-butene random copolymer in a specific amount ratio. The propylene-1-butene random copolymer (B) is characterized in that: (1) the copolymer contains 50 to 95% by mol of constituent units from propylene and 50 to 5% by mol of constituent units from 1-butene, (2) the intrinsic viscosity, as measured in decahydronaphthalene at 135.degree. C., is in the range of 0.1 to 12 dl/g, (3) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn), as determined measured by GPC, is not more than 3, and (4) the parameter B value indicating randomness of the copolymerized monomer sequence distribution is in the range of 1.0 to 1.5. Also disclosed is a polypropylene composite film comprising (I) a crystalline polypropylene layer and (II) a layer formed from the polypropylene composition, which is laminated on at least one surface of the crystalline polypropylene layer (I). The polypropylene composition is excellent in heat resistance and low-temperature heat-sealing properties as well as in flexibility and impact resistance. The polypropylene composite film is excellent in not only heat-sealing properties, particularly low-temperature heat-sealing properties, but also transparency, scratch resistance and blocking resistance.

Disclosed is an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin-nonconjugated polyene random copolymer which is a random copolymer of (a) ethylene, (b) an .alpha.-olefin of 3 or more carbon atoms and (c) a nonconjugated polyene, and has such properties that (i) the copolymer contains (a) units derived from ethylene and (b) units derived from the .alpha.-olefin of 3 or more carbon atoms in a molar ratio of 40/60 to 95/5 ((a)/(b)), (ii) the iodine value is in the range of 1 to 50, (iii) the intrinsic viscosity (.eta.), as measured in decahydronaphthalene at 135.degree. A poly-4-methyl-1-pentene resin laminate excellent in not only heat sealing properties and oxygen gas permeability but also blocking resistance is provided. The poly-4-methyl-1-pentene resin laminate comprises a layer made of a 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer (A), an intermediate layer made of an adhesive resin composition (B) and a layer made of a propylene polymer composition (C) comprising 60 to 90 parts by weight of a propylene polymer (c-1) and 10 to 40 parts by weight of a 1-butene polymer (c-2), the total amount of said components (c-1) and (c-2) being 100 parts by weight. This poly-4-methyl-1-pentene resin laminate can be used as a material of freshness-keeping packaging media and culture containers. Also provided is a poly-4-methyl-1-pentene resin laminate having excellent peel resistance and capable of being easily controlled in the oxygen gas permeability. This poly-4-methyl-1-pentene resin laminate comprises a layer made of a 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer (A′), an intermediate layer made of an adhesive resin composition (B′) and a layer made of an olefin polymer (C′). This poly-4-methyl-1-pentene resin laminate can be used as a material of containers for keeping freshness of vegetables and fruits.
