摘要: Disclosed herein are EPDM-diene copolymers that have a low molecular weight and are liquid at room temperature. In a specific embodiment, the method of making the copolymer includes: adding a solvent to a reactor; adding a propylene and a catalyst mixture to the solvent in the reactor to make a first reaction mixture, where the catalyst mixture includes: one or more catalysts, one or more cocatalysts, and one or more catalyst reactivators; contacting an ethylene to the first reaction mixture to make a second reaction mixture; and contacting a vinyl norbornene to the second reaction mixture to make a copolymer, where the copolymer has a molecular weight from about 2,500 g/mol to about 1,000,000 g/mol, and where the copolymer has a viscosity from about 1,000 cP to about 2,500,000 cP at 100° C.

摘要: Ethylene-based polymers comprise reaction products of polymerizing ethylene monomer, at least one diene or polyene comonomer, and optionally at least one C3 to C14 comonomer under defined polymerization reaction conditions, the ethylene-based polymer having: an Mw/Mw0 greater than 1.20. The Mw0 is the initial weight-average molecular weight of a comparative ethylene-based polymer by gel permeation chromatography. The comparative ethylene-based polymer being a reaction product of polymerizing ethylene monomer and all C3 to C14 comonomers present in the ethylene-based polymer, if any, without the at least one polyene comonomer, under the defined polymerization reaction conditions; and a molecular weight tail quantified by an MWD area metric, ATAIL, and ATAIL is less than or equal to 0.04 as determined by gel permeation chromatography using a triple detector.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a novel ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer containing a certain non-conjugated polyene such as VNB as a copolymerization component, having a low long-chain branching content, excellent in cure characteristics in the case of crosslinking by using peroxide, and having good processability. The ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer according to the present invention has constitutional units derived from ethylene (A), an α-olefin (B) having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and a non-conjugated polyene (C) having a total of two or more partial structures selected from the group consisting of the following general formulas (I) and (II) in a molecule, and satisfies certain requirements.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a process for polymerization, and in particular to minimizing undesired polymerization reactions downstream of a polymerization reaction zone, for instance by use of a quenching agent that enables fast reaction rates with active polymerization catalyst in the polymerization effluent, so as to quench the catalyst quickly, thereby preventing uncontrolled polymerization reactions. A preferred quenching agent is methanol. Also provided are means for treating polymer recycle streams containing oxygenates, which may result from the use of such quench agents, particularly in polymerization processes including polyene (e.g., diene) monomers.

摘要: The invention provides a composition comprising a first composition comprising the following: A) a first ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer that has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) greater than 90,000 g/mole and a MWD less than, or equal to 3, each as determined by conventional GPC; B) a second ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer; and wherein the first composition has a number average molecular weight (Mn) less than 10,000 g/mole, as determined by conventional GPC; and wherein the α-olefin of first interpolymer is the same as the α-olefin of the second interpolymer.
