摘要： An ink absorber is housed inside a housing of an ink tank and is capable of retaining ink. The ink absorber has an outer surface equal to or corresponding to a shape of an internal surface of the housing and is made of a fiber material obtained by compressing a fiber body and thermally molding at least a surface thereof. An ink tank is comprised of the ink absorber and the housing. An ink jet cartridge is comprised of the ink tank and a print head. The ink absorber has an outer surface equal to or corresponding to a shape of an internal surface of the housing before being inserted into the housing. The ink absorber comprises a fiber material, and is formed by compressing a fiber body and thermally molding at least a surface thereof.

摘要： An ink jet recording head comprises a grooved ceiling plate provided with a plurality of discharge openings for discharging ink, and a plurality of ink flow path grooves to form ink flow paths conductively connected with the discharge openings, a plurality of elemental substrates provided with a plurality of electrothermal transducing devices to generate thermal energy used for discharging ink, and a metallic pressure member for pressing the plurality of elemental substrates to be in contact with the grooved ceiling plate. The grooved ceiling plate and the elemental substrates are coupled to enable the ink flow path grooves and the electrothermal transducing devices to correspond to each other for the formation of ink flow paths. Here, the pressure member presses the reverse side of the surface of the elemental substrates having the electrothermal transducing devices provided therefor in order to couple the elemental substrates with the grooved ceiling plate. With the structure thus arranged, heat generated by the elemental substrates is efficiently transferred to the pressure member for radiation even for an ink jet recording head having no base plate or having a smaller base plate than the conventional one, while coupling the substrates and ceiling plate closely and reliably for the attainment of high quality recording.

摘要： The present invention provides an ink jet recording head comprising a top plate in which two groups of ink passage grooves for forming ink passages, two ink chamber frames, ink introduction passages, two rows of ink discharge ports are formed, two substrates on which a plurality of resistive heat generating elements for discharging ink are formed in correspondence to the two rows of ink discharge ports, and two elastic members for contacting under pressure and securing the substrates and the top plate for each said substrate, and wherein the junction between the substrates and the top plate forms the ink passages and the ink chambers therebetween, and further wherein a groove for isolating the ink discharge port rows from each other is formed between the ink discharge port rows and a depth of the groove is greater than depths of the ink discharge ports and the ink passages.

摘要： A method for coupling a liquid jet head unit is to couple a liquid jet head unit for recording by discharging liquid to a recording medium with a head installation member capable of installing the head unit through an elastic member. This method comprises the steps of preparing a liquid jet head unit structured integrally with two orifice arrays substantially paralleled and a first supply opening group for supplying liquid to the orifice arrays, and a head installation member provided with a second supply opening group corresponding to the first supply opening group for supplying liquid to the liquid jet head unit, and also, an elastic member having holes corresponding to each of the supply opening groups, providing first and second coupling units for one end side and the other end side of the two orifice arrays for coupling the liquid jet head unit and the head unit installation member, respectively and coupling only one face of the liquid jet head unit and the head unit installation member using the first and second coupling units. With the adoption of this method, it is possible to implement stabilized recording on a recording medium by a stabilized ink supply, at the same time, preventing any erroneous installation in the coupling mode.

Since the liquid residual amount can be known, a user can know the time to exchange the liquid containing chamber. Moreover, by detecting the liquid state in the liquid containing portion, more stable liquid supply operation can be realized.

摘要： A liquid container comprises an inner wall that forms the liquid containing portion to contain liquid therein; an outer wall that forms the container to contain the liquid containing portion therein; and a liquid supply portion for supplying liquid from the liquid containing portion to the outside. Then, the inner wall is arranged to be a member to generate negative pressure in the liquid containing portion by being deformed following the leading-out of the liquid, and also, formed by the material having an elastic modulus change of 25% or less against the temperature change of use environment. With the liquid container thus structured, it is possible to implement the stable supply of liquid by stabilizing the characteristic of negative pressure in the liquid containing portion thereof irrespective of the temperature changes of use environments.
