摘要： An information recording apparatus is for recording user data and recording management data onto an information recording medium being provided with: a first recording layer; and a second recording layer, each of the first recording layer and the second recording layer having a user data area to record therein at least the user data and a recording management area to record therein at least the recording management data for managing recording of the user data, the information recording apparatus is provided with: a recording device for dividing the recording management area into a plurality of recording management segments and for recording the recording management data into at least one of the plurality of recording management segments; and a first controlling device for controlling the recording device to dispose each of the plurality of recording management segments in a single recording layer.

摘要： A recording apparatus includes: a recording device for recording record information onto at least one of (i) a recording medium including: a first recording layer and a second recording layer in which the record information is recorded by irradiating laser light thereon, each of the first and second recording layers including a buffer area and a calibration area, and (ii) a recording medium including: the first recording layer and the second recording layer, each of the first and second recording layers including the calibration area; a setting device for setting a reserved area having a predetermined size for extending or generating the buffer area, by each recording unit in the calibration area; a calibrating device for calibrating the power by using the calibration area other than the set reserved area; and a controlling device for controlling the recording device to record the record information into at least the reserved area.

摘要： An information recording apparatus records the record data onto an information recording medium, which is provided with wobbled tracks and on which pre-format address information is recorded. The information recording apparatus is provided with: an optical pickup; a detector for detecting a push-pull signal on the basis of an output of the optical pickup; a timing generator for generating a timing signal by detecting the pre-format address information and by detecting a slot unit smaller than a data management unit of the pre-format address information on the basis of a cycle of the push-pull signal; and a system controller for detecting an optimum recording laser power by recording or reproducing a test signal on the tracks while changing a recording laser power on the basis of the timing signal.

摘要： A content distribution system (100) includes a server device (3) and a client device (2) which are contained in a network (17), and an information recording medium (1) capable of being set in the client device and recordable. The client device, when the information recording medium on which prepaid information or content identification information is recorded is set, transmits the recorded information to the server device. The server device distributes the contents corresponding to the content identification information to the client device within the prepaid range indicated by the prepaid information. The client device stores the contents to be distributed in a storage element (9) and further copies them to the information recording medium. With this, content distribution excellent in promptness and safety can be achieved and also an information recording medium on which desired contents are recorded can be safely and surely delivered to the user's hand.
