Abstract:
An image editing apparatus includes an image input unit including an image pickup circuit which takes a picture of a subject to obtain an image of a subject. A face detection circuit detects an image of a face of the subject from the image obtained from the image input unit. A face expression detection circuit detects at least any one of direction and expression of the face of the subject, based on the image of the face detected by the face detection circuit. A pupil detection circuit detects images of pupils of the subject, based on the image of the face detected by the face detection circuit. A catch-light composition circuit composes different catch-lights on the images of the pupils detected by the pupil detection circuit, according to any one of the direction and expression of the face detected by the face expression detection circuit.
Abstract:
The imaging apparatus of the present invention can display both real-time images received by an image pickup device and an image(s) recorded on a recording medium at the same time on a display part. The image(s) recorded on the recording medium and to be displayed is selectively switched between image data selected from a recording part in accordance with a shooting instruction and image data selected from the recording part in accordance with an instruction other than the shooting instruction.
Abstract:
In an imaging apparatus capable of continuous shooting, the continuously shot image data are sequentially recorded, and some image data selected from the recoded image data are displayed on a display portion. At this selection, data associated with the shooting period of the image data is divided into approximately equal time intervals, and image data corresponding to shooting time positions of the approximately equally divided time intervals are selected.

Abstract:
An imaging device and a control method for an imaging device of the present invention comprise an imaging section for photoelectrically converting a subject image and outputting image data, and a display section for performing live view display of the subject image based on the image data, wherein, with respect to whether or not a main body is being held, by determining if the main body is in a portrait orientation, and is being held by a touch surface area or with both hands, if this determination is that the main body is not being held a shooting command is received using only a release button, while if it is determined that the main body is being held a shooting command is received by touching the display section.
Abstract:
A camera detects a face portion of a subject from a shot image to determine whether a shot image is a good shot candidate image from the features of the face portion and a face portion-related image portion. As examples, the features include, but not be limited to, (1) the shape and variation in contour ranging from the vicinity of the face portion, (2) the position of a hand or leg to be determined by similarity to the skin tone of the face portion, and (3) determination made from the detection result of the face portion as to whether the subject is a half-length or full-length figure.
