摘要: A liquid jet recording head includes a liquid path member having a plurality of liquid flow paths, each of the liquid flow paths being filled with a recording liquid, an orifice being formed at an end of each of the liquid flow paths, and a heater base member having a plurality of heater members and a plurality of radiator members. The heater base member is connected to the liquid path member, each of the heater members having a heater portion, the heater portion generating heat in accordance with a power supplied to it. Each of the radiator members is thermally coupled to the heater portion of one of the heater members so that the amount of heat transmitted from the heater portion to the recording liquid on the heater portion changes in a predetermined direction. When a power is supplied to the heater portion, a bubble is generated in the recording liquid and located at an area on the heater portion, the area having a size corresponding to the power supplied to the heater portion, the bubble causing a recording liquid droplet to be jetted from the orifice.

摘要: An on-demand type ink jet printing apparatus which prints out data in various forms such as characters and numerals by the combination of dots formed by ink droplets on a sheet of paper. An ink ejection head of the printer includes control electrodes disposed in at least one ink passageway. Ink droplets are formed and caused to fly by electric fields developed in the vicinity of the control electrodes when voltages are applied thereacross. Multiport ink ejection is achieved by the provision of a plurality of ink passageways in the head. The voltage supply to the control electrodes is controllable so that ink droplets may be formed and caused into flight in response to print signals.A channel defining each ink passageway can be shaped easily yet with accuracy utilizing an etching characteristic particular to a specific crystal face.A plurality of acceleration electrodes may be employed to promote desirable flight of ink droplets. Further, a counter electrode may be located in the head to face the control electrodes so that the ink droplets will be formed and fly in a further efficient and stable manner.

摘要: A new nozzle structure is disclosed for an ink ejection head of an electric field on-demand type ink jet printer. A plurality of circular nozzles and first electrodes integral with the nozzles are arranged along the widthwise direction (X direction) and feed direction (Y direction) of a sheet of paper. A plurality of lead terminals are individually connected to the arrays of the first electrodes each of which extends in the Y direction. Second electrodes are located at the rear of the first electrodes and individually connected to the arrays of the first electrode each of which extends in the X direction. A third or counter electrode is positioned in front of the first electrodes and at the back of the sheet. Each of the second electrodes is mounted on a nozzle plate or a nozzle support. The first electrodes are supplied with voltage pulses corresponding to image data, the second electrodes for printing with a voltage opposite in polarity to the voltage pulses, and the second electrodes for non-printing with a zero voltage or a voltage common in polarity to the voltage pulses sequentially and repeatedly on the time sharing basis. The third electrode is applied with a constant voltage of the opposite polarity to the voltage pulses.

摘要: An apparatus for developing a latent image on a latent image carrier includes a toner carrier and multiple electrodes arranged at intervals on a surface of the toner carrier. A potential difference is formed between even-numbered electrodes and odd-numbered electrodes of the electrodes by applying a first pulse voltage to the even-numbered electrodes and a second pulse voltage to the odd-numbered electrodes so that toner on the surface of the toner carrier moves back and forth between the electrodes, where the first and second pulse voltages are in different phases, and the toner moving back and forth between the electrodes is conveyed to a position facing the latent image carrier by movement of the surface of the toner carrier and thereby caused to adhere to the latent image on the latent image carrier.

摘要: Development device includes an electrostatic conveyance device, a supply device, and a collection device. The electrostatic conveyance device moves toner on a surface thereof in a toner conveyance direction by a phase-shifting electric field. The surface has upstream and downstream side ends where the phase-shifting electric field starts and ends, respectively. The supply device opposes the upstream side end to supply the toner onto the electrostatic conveyance surface. The toner supplied by the supply device onto the electrostatic conveyance surface is moved by the phase-shifting electric field to a development area of the electrostatic conveyance device opposing an image bearing. The collection device opposes the downstream side end and collects the toner moved on the electrostatic conveyance surface to a downstream side of the development area of the electrostatic conveyance device in the toner conveyance direction without contributing to the development.
