摘要： In a filing system, a data processing apparatus is connected to a file server via a transmission path. Image data of a document is captured into the data processing apparatus. The captured image data is stored onto an image storage medium. A plurality of owner identifications are acquired when the image data is captured. The owner identifications are correlated with the image data stored on the image storage medium, and the stored image data is allowed to be accessed when any of the owner identifications correlated with the image data is verified. The image data is output in a readable manner by retrieving the stored image data of the image storage medium when the access to the image data is allowed.

The receiving part receives a public key certificate and identification information of the communication device from the device, which conduct the authentication process by using the public key encryption and sends the public key certificate used for the authentication process only to a specific communication partner. The method includes authenticating the communications counterpart using a common certificate and transferring a normal certificate to the communications counterpart when the authenticating succeeds. The method further includes receiving a first normal certificate at an address from said communications counterpart, and when, it is determined to be necessary, transferring to the communications counterpart a second normal certificate along with the information identifying the communications counterpart and an address corresponding to a second normal certificate. 摘要： An image processing apparatus that is capable of presenting a general overview of the contents of an original image from its corresponding scrambled image is disclosed. The image processing apparatus applies a discrete wavelet transform to a pixel value of each of at least one rectangular region into which image data are divided and hierarchically compresses the image data into a compressed code stream. Then the image processing apparatus performs a scrambling process on compressed code within the compressed code stream that is of a level corresponding to a high resolution image component and refrains from performing the scrambling process on compressed code other than that of the level corresponding to the high resolution image component.
