    摘要: A heat-resistant glass composition which comprises, in % by weight; 56 to 68% of SiO.sub.2, 0.2 to 5% of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 0 to 6.4% of ZrO.sub.2, 0 to 0.5% of Li.sub.2 O, 0.2 to 8% of Na.sub.2 O, 2.5 to 14% of K.sub.2 O, 1 to 7% of MgO, 2 to 12% of CaO, 0 to 12% of SrO, 0 to 13% of BaO, 0 to 2% of ZnO, 0 to 1% in total of SO.sub.3 and Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3, and 0 to 3% of TiO.sub.2, with the proviso of the total amount of Na.sub.2 O and K.sub.2 O being 7 to 17%, the total amount of MgO and CaO being 7 to 15%, the total amount of SrO and BaO being 4 to 18%, the total amount of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO being 15 to 27%, and the total amount of SiO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, and ZrO.sub.2 being 58% or more, and which has an average thermal expansion coefficient of 75.times.10.sup.-7 to 100.times.10.sup.-7 /K at 50 to 350.degree. C. and a strain point of 530.degree. C. or more. The heat-resistant glass composition has substantially the same thermal expansion coefficient as that of a soda-lime glass used as a window pane of buildings and a strain point than that of the soda-lime glass.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a fireproof sheet glass formed of glass composition which should be classified as a soda-lime glass. Thus far, there has been a demand for a fireproof sheet glass made of soda-lime glass which provides high productivity of sheet glass and which hardly reduces the life of glass melting furnace. However, there has existed none made of soda-lime glass which has high durability and hardly softens. Then, by preparing soda-lime glass in a predetermined glass composition and by using it to obtain a softening point of 780.degree. C. or higher, there has been provided a fireproof sheet glass made of soda-lime glass which provides high durability and which hardly softens.

    摘要: A glass composition having a high Young's modulus and a low density is disclosed which can be mass-produced by a continuous process and easily made to have high surface smoothness. Also disclosed are a substrate including the glass composition and reduced in bending and resonance even upon high-speed rotation, a recording medium usable at a lower flying height, and an information recording device having a higher recording capacity and a shorter access time. The glass composition includes, in terms of mol %, 40 to 55% silicon dioxide (SiO2), 0.5 to 6% aluminum oxide (Al2O3), 2 to 20% lithium oxide (Li2O), 0 to 10% sodium monoxide ((Na2O), 2 to 30% R2O (R2O=Li2O+Na2O), 5 to 25% magnesium oxide (MgO), 0 to 25% calcium oxide (CaO), 0 to 10% strontium oxide (SrO), 10 to 40% RO (RO=MgO+CaO+SrO), 0 to 10% titanium dioxide (TiO2), and 0 to 5% zirconium oxide (ZrO2).

    摘要: A glass composition is disclosed which has a high modulus elasticity (Young's modulus) and a high rigidity (modulus of elasticity/specific gravity) and is capable of being effectively inhibited from bending or vibrating. Also disclosed is a process for producing the glass composition. The glass composition comprises, in terms of mol %, 40 to 65% SiO2, 5 to 25% Al2O3, 2 to 20% Li2O, 0 to 9% Na2O, 0 to 10% TiO2, 0 to 10% ZrO2, 0 to 25% MgO, 0 to 25% CaO, and 0 to 10% SrO, provided that the content of RO (RO=MgO+CaO+SrO) is from 2 to 40% and the sum of (Li2O)/2 and Na2O is from 1 to 10 mol %, said glass composition further containing, as clarifiers, from 0.01 to 5 mol % SnO2 and up to 0.1 mol % sulfur (S) in terms of the amount of SO3.
