Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for moving fluids. The invention device includes an enclosure, a solid electrolyte which can produce oxygen in the enclosure so as to distort a membrane that acts to move a fluid in an enclosure. This device is useful to produce a head for ink jet printing.
Abstract:
An article having an lenticular image formed thereon and a sound generating mechanism associated therewith for generating a sound message, the sound message being coordinated with respect to movement of the article. A mechanism for moving the lenticular image along a predetermined path may also be provided and for coordinating the sound message with the movement of the lenticular image. Different sound segments may be activated with respect to the line-of-sight or distance of the observer with respect to the lenticular image.
Abstract:
A printing device comprising a polymer element capable of switching from an initial state to a final state when subjected to an event, the initial state and the final state being selected from an hydrophilic state and an hydrophobic state provided that the initial state differs from the second state, wherein said polymer element is impregnated with a print fluid, and a controller adapted to generate the event producing the switch of the polymer element, provided that the event is an optical, a thermal or a chemical event, wherein the controller is adapted to generate the event producing the switch of the polymer element on a localized zone and on a internal zone delimited by the localized zone, in order to form a fluid drop at the surface of the polymer element.
Abstract:
The invention is related to an aqueous ink composition comprising water, a coloring agent, and solid surfactant particles wherein said solid particles comprise a mixture of at least two surfactants with very low water solubility and with melting points between 40.degree. C. and 90.degree. C.
Abstract:
The adapter cassette comprises: a) means 12 to receive a reel on which is wound a strip of photographic film having photographic images recorded thereon; b) transport means 22 run by the operation of a VCR loaded with the adapter cassette to control the position of the strip of film at least partially wound on the reel in relation to an analysis position; and c) means for analysis 30 and transformation 38 of the signal to provide a video signal representing the image stored on the strip of film and located in front of the analysis position.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an ink reservoir for ink jet printing. This reservoir includes a solid electrolyte pellet inserted in the wall of the reservoir, which conducts O2− ions when subjected to an electric current. The reservoir allows to control the internal atmosphere of the reservoir above the free surface of the ink that it contains.
Abstract:
An integral image element includes at least one display control parameter that is stored in a storage mechanism located in a data code field of the integral image element. The display control parameter is read by an information reading device of a dynamic display unit that controls the display of the integral image element based on the display control parameter. The display control parameter or parameters stored on the integral image element may include a frame rate parameter, a sound parameter, a scent parameter and an illumination parameter.
Abstract:
A system and process for combining a prerecorded digital image with hand written graphic elements. The system comprises at least one computer for managing the links between the various parts of the system; at least one mechanism for supplying a prerecorded digital image to the system; and a peripheral (P). The peripheral includes, a mechanism for, on the one hand, displaying the prerecorded image and, on the other hand, digitally recording data corresponding to the hand written graphic elements; and a processor for managing the functions of the mechanism for displaying the prerecorded image and for communicating with the computer.
Abstract:
A halftone type printing process for a digital image I intended to be viewed through a lenticular network includes a plurality of lenses. The image I includes a number j of pixel lines and comprises a number n of interleaved images. One interleaved strip of each of the n images is in correspondence with one lens. The process comprises the steps of sampling n images to obtain n digital images comprising a total j of pixel lines; applying a dithering algorithm to each of the n digital images obtained in the preceding step; cutting each dithered image into a number q of strips comprising an identical number of lines for each dithered image, with the cutting being such that the sum of the pixel line strips of the n images intended to correspond with the same lens is equal to j/q; constructing the image I by interleaving the strips of n dithered images in order; and printing the image I.
Abstract:
A time and temperature integrating device for providing a visually observable indication of cumulative thermal exposure is disclosed comprising (a) at least two thermally sensitive image-forming areas of differing thermal sensitivity, and (b) indicating indicia in association with the thermally sensitive areas for indicating when each thermally sensitive area of the device has been exposed to predetermined cumulative thermal exposures. Such cumulative time-temperature exposure indicators may advantageously monitor and provide an ongoing record of thermal exposure prior to reaching a state of complete degradation, or other monitored property change, in an associated product.
