    摘要: The invention provides a solution for performing multicast within a telecommunication network. The basic idea is to introduce multicast transmission for parts of a network that is basically point-to-point oriented. This is done by creating transport multicast groups TLMG to transport data between network entities. The idea is to have a TLMG going to a node being close to the user. In one embodiment of the invention one TLMG is established between the SGSNs and RNCs and a second one between the GGSN and SGSNs. From the RNC the data is sent via a radio bearer to a user.

    摘要: Methods, devices, and computer programs for improving the efficiency of multi-user multimedia messaging services are disclosed. A multimedia message is sent from an originator user device to an originator server and further to one or more recipient servers to which recipient user devices as addressed are associated to. The one or more recipient servers execute a multicast delivery for distributing the multimedia message to the recipient user devices and/or an improved reporting of a transmission state of the multimedia message by receiving status messages from the recipient user devices, each status message comprising an indication of an individual transmission state of the multi media message at one of the recipient user devices, aggregating the indications into a report representing the transmission state of the multimedia message, and sending the report to the originator server.

    摘要: A technique for delivering a multimedia data file, such as an MMS, from an originator having an originator server associated therewith to a recipient having a recipient server associated therewith is provided. The technique comprises establishing a communication path from the originator to the recipient via the originator server and recipient server. The recipient server receives the data file or portions thereof uploaded to the originator server from the originator. Thereafter, the recipient server individually forwards the data file portions received from the originator server without waiting for receipt of the complete data file.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method, network node, router, serving node and system for performing multicast in a point to point oriented telecommunication network. The basic idea is to introduce multicast transmission for parts of a network that is basically point-to-point oriented. This is done by creating transport multicast group tunnels between a router and a serving node in order to transport the multicast data. This invention describes the application of multicasting in point to point networks, such as UMTS with a scarce number of resources. In a mobile environment like in UMTS the idea could be implemented by using IP multicast for efficient transmission in the IP network between the SEGSN and GGSN for example on the Gn interface.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method, network node, router, serving node and system for performing multicast in a point-to-point packet-switched oriented telecommunication network. The basic idea is to introduce pre-configured multicast transmission for parts of a network. This is done by creating pre-configured transport multicast group tunnels between a router and a serving node in order to transport the multicast data. Further the present invention describes the possibility of multiplexing of the multicast data streams on a pre-configured transport multicast group tunnel. In particular the invention is applicable for multicasting in networks, like UMTS with a scarce number of resources, in the IP network between the SGSN and GGSN for example on the Gn interface.

    摘要: A distributed caching and redistribution system, method, and mobile client for caching and redistributing data content in a wireless data network. The system enables mobile clients to cache data content that has been distributed by means of broadcast or multicast, and to redistribute the content from the cache to other users. Using anycast techniques applied to the PLMN, a user who wants to retrieve data that was distributed earlier locates the nearest user that has the content available, and asks the nearest user to forward the content. The “nearest” user may be the closest user, but may also be the optimal user from a Quality of Service (QoS) point of view.

    摘要: The invention provides a solution for performing multicast for streaming transmission in a telecommunication system. An intermediate node is proposed which is able to connect the functionality of a broadcast/multicast server and of a streaming node. Further the intermediate node is responsible for the establishment of a bearer for multicast transmission. The establishment of a session is done by means of a translation the on-demand single-use signalling into multi-user push signalling. Furthermore an adaptation of the streaming flow for a whole multicast group or for individual subgroups of a multicast group is performed.
