    Abstract: A tensioning device for a load carrier, such as a bike carrier or a roof box. The tensioning device includes a torque limiting mechanism which is adapted to limit the amount of transferable torque. The torque limiting mechanism includes a first torque transmission member and a second torque transmission member. The first torque transmission member is biased into working cooperation with the second torque transmission member such that upon a torque threshold value, the first and second torque transmission members are disengaged from working cooperation so that a torque limiting function is provided. An activation member is associated with the first torque transmission member, which enables a user to operate the first torque transmission member to transfer torque to the second torque transmission member.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a supporting unit for a bike carrier. The supporting unit is configured for fixedly holding a mounting portion mountable to the fork of a bike instead of a wheel or being formed by a part other than the wheel of the bike to be transported, for example by a portion of the fork of the bike. The supporting unit comprises a locking mechanism for receiving the mounting portion and to be transferable between a locking state in which the mounting portion is non-releasably fixed on the supporting unit and an unlocking state in which the mounting portion is dismountable from the supporting unit. The locking mechanism is lockable by receiving a force from the mounting portion upon inserting the mounting portion into the supporting unit so that the locking mechanism is transferable into the locking state by the force exerted on the locking mechanism by the mounting portion.

The seat structure is transferable between an operational state in which the seat structure forms a seating area for the passenger, and a stowed state in which the seat structure is folded away thereby allowing the transport of loads other than passengers. The seat structure comprises a backrest portion with a seating side for at least partially contacting the back of a passenger. The backrest portion is accommodatable in the bike trailer such that at least the seating side of the backrest portion is protected against contact with loads to be carried when the seat structure is in the stowed state.

    Abstract: A wheel holder for a bicycle carrier for a vehicle includes at least one body and at least one fastening member. The wheel holder is configured to receive and retain a wheel having a tread. The at least one body provides a first wheel receiving surface and a second wheel receiving surface. The first and second wheel receiving surfaces are separated by a distance in a first plane. The first plane is aligned with a rotation plane of the wheel of the bicycle after the wheel has been mounted to the wheel holder. A void is formed between the first and second wheel receiving surfaces. The void is configured to receive a portion of the wheel of the bicycle such that the first and second wheel receiving surfaces provide a first support point and a second support point on the tread of the wheel separated by the void.
