    摘要: Linear or straight-chain trimethylsiloxy endcapped methylhydrogen polysiloxanes are made by contacting hexamethyldisiloxane with a highly pure methylhydrogen cyclic siloxane, in the presence of anhydrous trifluoromethane sulfonic acid catalyst at room temperature. Trimethylsiloxy endcapped alkylmethyl siloxanes are made by reacting the linear or straight-chain trimethylsiloxy endcapped methylhydrogen polysiloxanes with an alpha-olefin, in the presence of a platinum catalyst. Alkylmethyl cyclic siloxanes containing zero parts per million residual .ident.SiH, are made by reacting anhydrous alpha-olefins and a highly pure methylhydrogen cyclic siloxane, in the presence of dried platinum supported on carbon catalyst.

    摘要: The present invention provides near quantitative yields of greater than about 95% isomeric purity of poly(3-aminopropylmethylsiloxane)-poly(dimethylsiloxane) copolymers of the general formulae: Me3Si(H2NCH2CH2CH2MeSiO)w(Me2SiO)xOSiMe3 (H2NCH2CH2CH2MeSiO)y(Me2SiO)z wherein Me is methyl, w may range from 1 to about 100, x may range from 1 to about 100, y may range from 1 to about 6, z may range from 1 to about 6 and y+z may range from 3 to about 7. The present invention also provides a simple method for rapidly producing poly(3-aminopropylmethylsiloxane)-poly(dimethylsiloxane) copolymers of the general formulae: Me3Si(H2NCH2CH2CH2MeSiO)w(Me2SiO)xOSiMe3 (H2NCH2CH2CH2MeSiO)y(Me2SiO)z wherein Me is methyl, w may range from 1 to about 100, x may range from 1 to about 100, y may range from 1 to about 6, z may range from 1 to about 6, and y+z may range from 3 to about 7, the method comprising heating of poly(3-aminopropylmethylsiloxane) of at least 95% isomeric purity, a cyclodimethylsiloxane with a basic catalyst, and destroying the catalyst when the copolymerization reaction is complete.

    摘要: The crosslinking and simultaneous alkylation of poly(hydridomethylsiloxanes) form crosslinked siloxanes having n-alkylmethyl groups. Without changing the chain length of the poly(hydridomethylsiloxane) starting material, a family of lightly crosslinked siloxanes having n-alkylmethyl groups, with a range of viscosities, can be produced using one or more alpha-olefins along with a small amount of an unconjugated alpha, omega-diene added as a crosslinker. The poly(hydridomethyl siloxanes) are made from highly pure silanol-free hexamethyldisiloxane and highly pure mixtures of silanol-free tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D.sup.H 4) and pentamethylcyclopentasiloxane D.sup.H 5 containing no more than about 100 parts per million (ppm) water, with anhydrous trifluoromethane sulfonic acid (triflic acid, CF.sub.3 SO.sub.3 H), at room temperature, to provide linear poly(hydridomethylsiloxanes) having degrees of polymerization of up to about 250.
