摘要: The invention relates to a system for processing image data corresponding a scene comprising an imaging device and an image reading instruction indicia. In accordance with the invention, image data corresponding to a scene comprising an image reading instruction indicia is processed in a manner that depends on features of the image reading instruction indicia. If the image reading instruction indicia is of a type whose size, scaling, orientation, and distortion can be determined, scaling, orientation, and distortion characteristics determined from the image reading instruction indicia can be used to improve the image reading process.

摘要: The invention relates to an imaging device of the type having an imaging assembly including a two dimensional image sensor. In one embodiment an imaging device can be used to obtain an area image representation. In one embodiment, the image representation can be processed. The processing of the image representation can include recognition of an indicia represented in the image representation. In one embodiment an image imaging device can output image data to a first external processing system responsively to reorganization of first indicia and can output image data to a second external processing system responsively to recognition of second indicia.

摘要: The invention relates to a bar code reading device of the type having an imaging assembly including a two dimensional image sensor and which may be moved between varying positions, orientations and angles relative to a substrate. In one embodiment a bar code reading device can be used to obtain an area electronic representation of a substrate including bar code indicia and a signature, and can output an area representation including a representation of a signature. In another embodiment, the bar code reading device can process and output a processed area electronic representation to an output destination. In one embodiment an output destination to which a bar code reading device outputs a processed area electronic representation is a display.

摘要: A method for decoding a decodable symbol using an optical reader having a 2D image sensor that is configured to operate in a partial frame capture operating mode. In a partial frame operating mode, the reader clocks out and captures at least one partial frame of image data having image data corresponding to less than all of the pixels of an image sensor pixel array. In one embodiment, the reader operating in a partial frame operating mode captures image data corresponding to a linear pattern of pixels of the image sensor, reads the image data, and attempts to decode for a decodable bar code symbol which may be represented in the image data.

摘要: There is described in one embodiment an imaging apparatus having an image sensor, and a plurality of operating states. Operation of the imaging apparatus can be differentiated between the operating states. In one operating state, the imaging apparatus can capture a frame of image data having image data corresponding to a predetermined number of pixels of the image sensor. The operating states of the imaging apparatus can be user selectable. There is described in one embodiment an apparatus having an image sensor operative to capture a relatively smaller sized frame, wherein a characteristic of light directed by an illumination assembly for capture of a relatively larger sized frame is determined utilizing the relatively smaller sized frame.
