Abstract:
An air bag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The air bag module comprising an air bag package, having an air bag which is inflatable for the protection of a vehicle occupant, as well as an envelope in which the air bag is arranged, and a module casing, in which the air bag package is arranged. Here, the envelope of the air bag package comprises a first envelope part and a second envelope part and the first envelope part and the second envelope part have at least one flange section each, which are connected to each other so that at least one envelope flange protruding from the remaining air bag package is formed. It is provided that the envelope flange is spatially fixed on the module casing and/or can be spatially fixed between the module casing and an adjacent structure.
Abstract:
An airbag module with an airbag and a tubular gas generator fastened to a module housing is provided. Said tubular gas generator having gas outlet openings along the periphery thereof and can be fastened to the module housing by means of only a clamping ring that is movable over the tubular gas generator and over a section of the module housing. The clamping ring has in axial direction elongated sections being separated from each other and continuing axial in the opposite direction. The module housing has in its bottom an opening for inserting the tubular gas generator, wherein on the module housing below this opening a support for the tubular gas generator is provided. The clamping ring is designed such that said clamping ring reaches below the support after positioning the tubular gas generator with the elongated section by axial moving in direction of the centre of the tubular gas generator.
Abstract:
An airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system is provided. The airbag arrangement comprises an airbag package which includes an airbag which can be inflated to protect a vehicle occupant as well as a sleeve in which the airbag is vacuum-packaged. The sleeve comprises a first sleeve part and a second sleeve part. The first sleeve part and the second sleeve part each include at least one flange portion. The two flange portions are connected with each other and initially protrude from the remaining airbag package, after they have been connected with each other. The two flange portions are at least partly folded such that they extend along an outer surface of the remaining airbag package.

An airbag module comprising an airbag and a tubular gas generator that can be fastened to a module housing is provided. Said gas generator having gas outlet openings along the periphery thereof. The tubular gas generator can be fastened to the module housing using two clamp rings which can move along the tubular gas generator and along sections of the module housing. The module housing comprises an opening at the base thereof for introducing the tubular gas generator. A support for the tubular gas generator is disposed at the module housing below said opening, wherein the support has a smaller length than the tubular gas generator.
Abstract:
An airbag module with a gas generator, airbag, diffuser and with an airbag module housing, in particular for carrying the gas generator and the airbag is provided. The diffuser is designed as a component partially fitting tightly at the ends thereof against the gas generator, whereby the diffuser extends in the region of the gas outlet openings of the gas generator at a distance from the gas generator. The airbag module housing has in the region of the ends of the gas generator contact surfaces for the gas generator, whereby dented sections of the airbag module housing are provided as contact surfaces. The gas generator is clamped between the diffuser and the airbag module housing for arranging the gas generator on the airbag module housing, whereby the contact surfaces form first clamping points fitting against the gas generator for clamping the gas generator on the airbag module housing.
