摘要: A fixed type constant velocity universal joint having an outer joint member having eight arcuate guide grooves extending in the axial direction in an inner spherical surface, an inner joint member having eight arcuate guide grooves extending in the axial direction in an outer spherical surface. Eight balls are disposed between the guide grooves of the outer joint member and guide grooves of the inner joint member. A cage is interposed between the outer and inner joint members for retaining the balls. A center of the guide grooves of the outer joint member is offset from the center of the inner spherical surface, and the center of the guide grooves of the inner joint member is offset from the center of the outer spherical surface by an equal distance to opposite sides in the axial direction. A relation of 0.45≦B/A≦0.65 is established, where A represents the wall thickness of the cage, and B represents the radial displacement of balls at a maximum joint angle.

摘要: A constant velocity universal joint has an outer joint member having eight curved track grooves axially extending along an inner circumferential surface, an inner joint member having eight curved track grooves axially extending along an outer circumferential surface, eight balls respectively arranged in eight ball tracks provided as pairs of the track grooves of the outer and inner joint members. The center of each track groove of the outer joint member is axially displaced a predetermined distance from the spherical center of the inner circumferential surface. The center of each track groove of the inner joint member is axially displaced the same distance from the spherical center of the outer circumferential surface in the direction opposite to that of the outer joint member. A PCD gap in the ball track is in the range of 5 μm to 50 μm.

摘要: A novel constant velocity universal joint with eight ball is provided for realizing the improved durability of the joint under high-loaded conditions and the suppressed variations of lifetimes of the joints. The universal joint has an outer joint member having eight curved track grooves axially extending along an inner circumferential surface with a spherical shape, an inner joint member having eight curved track grooves axially extending along an outer circumferential surface with a spherical shape, eight balls respectively arranged in eight ball tracks provided as pairs of the track grooves of the outer joint member and the track grooves of the inner joint member, and a cage having pockets for respectively holding the balls. The center of each track groove of the outer joint member is axially displaced a predetermined distance from the spherical center of the inner circumferential surface. The center of each track groove of the inner joint member is axially displaced the same distance from the spherical center of the outer circumferential surface in the direction opposite to that of the outer joint member. A PCD gap in the ball track is in the range of 5 μm to 50 μm.

摘要: A fixed type constant velocity universal joint secures smooth rotation and reduces a load on a cage even at a large operating angle and when bearing large torque. The universal joint includes an outer joint member having an inner spherical surface in which track grooves are circumferentially formed in an axial direction and an inner joint member having an outer spherical surface in which track grooves paired with the track grooves of the outer joint member are circumferentially formed in the axial direction and multiple outer spherical surface portions circumferentially arranged. Balls are interposed between the track grooves of the outer and inner joint members for transmitting torque. A cage is interposed between the inner spherical surface and the outer spherical surface for retaining the balls. A spherical surface angle of the outer spherical surface on a joint opening side is set to 12.5° or more.

摘要: Provided is an outer joint member for a fixed type constant velocity universal joint, the outer joint member contributing to reduction of the number of man-hours through reduction of the number of post processes after a forging process, and to an increase in yield, and reduction of manufacturing cost. The outer joint member for a fixed type constant velocity universal joint includes a cup section (16) and a shaft section (18) extending in an axial direction from a bottom portion of the cup section (16). The outer joint member is made of machine-structural carbon steel. The following portions of the outer joint member are finished by cold forging: track grooves (12); radially inner spherical-surface portions (14a); a cup-inlet chamfer (12b); track chamfers (12c); track-inlet chamfers (12a); a part except for a boot fixing portion (19) on a radially outer surface of the cup section (16); and a center hole (13) at an end surface (18a) of the shaft section (18).
